Why did they wait for our country to pass some kind of legislation when they could have applied for citizenship long ago? Could it be because they will lose they freebies from the taxpayers as they continue to get social services, free medical care and education. This country needs to wake up and quit rewarding criminal aliens and take card of it's own citizens.
Only U.S. citizens are entitled to any government support such as soscial services and medical care, but the DREAM act is not intended for U.S. citizens, but the illegals who have come here as children. To date, we have paid for their education and it makes sense for the U.S. to cash in on their education and allow them to have residency here. The DREAM Act are for those who ar eattending college or join the military - so the numbers are quite small.

At any rate, it doesn't seem that it will pass, especially when we are suffering from high unemployment that will likely be with us for some time to come.

How about a PUSH back south? I'm sure a nice big tank and 10,000 military troops could assist.

I read in a different local paper that a full scolarship 21 year old Ivan Rosales is going to DC to campaign for the Dream Act. He came here when he was 10 months old. After CSSB he plans to go to medical school (who pays?) then serve as an Army medic and become a doctor. He's afraid he might be deported. Sounds like a very bright person, right? Why in Heaven's name hasn't be taken the citizenship test and become a US citizen???

Obie, you are the reason why because for one you cannot write, your spelling is embarrassing and you need to educate yourself. How about I put it this way. My family will come over and live in your house and you pay for my car, food, healthcare, gas, baby items, schooling, books, vacations and then after about 40 years then come talk to me.

Well I guess you have not read the Dream Act nor do I believe most people have not. I have and if you read what it states for one is that it opens the door to the kids parents, cousins, aunt, uncle, mom, dad, grandpa, grandma and so on. It is just another anti Legal immigration bill that make our system a double standard. For one there are people who wait years to get in this country but we are going to reward people for an illegal act even though their parents caused it. Blame your parents not our system. Also La Raza even talks about killing Americans. Well for one that does not work for me or other Americans. Stand in line a nd take the sorry a&& story somewhere else.

Dear Readers:

My name is Jaime, I am writing this article on behalf of the many children that are born from parents that are undocumented. I would like to share my story, as it is just a little bit different but similar. My mother married an American citizen, at the time of marriage, my sister and I were already born from a previous marriage. My father past away when I was several months old. My stepfather married my mother several years later, my sister was 5 years old and I was 3 year old. At the time my stepfather was able to get my mother's citizenship in order, but my sister and I fell through that way side. But every time we crossed the border from Tijuana, Mexico as children we never encountered any problems and also being able to speak English helped. As I got older, I wanted to work and go to school. Well, without proper green card ( legal documentation) I was not able to get a job or play the sports that I wanted to, the reason was that I needed a social security. My last year in High School in 1989, my stepfather helped me with my citizenship. A year later when I received my Immigration and Naturalization Service number, I joined the armed forces in 1990 and I served as a Hospital Corpsman (medic) for 4 years active and 1 year reserve. I am a veteran of Desert Storm/Desert Shield. I am proud to say that I served my country proudly and honorably. I received many medals and certifications through the military. I would also mention that on behalf of all of those individuals that served and died, that they gave the ultimate sacrifice to serve this great nation to become United States citizens. It would be a shame that they be forgotten since they paid with their lives to be part of this great nation that we live in. After my military service, I attended Mt. Sac College in Walnut, CA receiving my Associate Degree in Liberal Arts, and then two years later from Cal State Polytechnic University with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. After that I took on line courses with the George Washington University towards my Masters. All of this was paid though the military (GI bill), my hard work and my taxes. I currently work as a medical professional and I help save lives. I hope that I can be a role model and serve as an advocate towards helping others through the Dream Act.

The students who are pursuing approval of the DREAM Act are obviously smart, intelligent and articulate. My question to them is: Why have you and your parents not gone through normal protocol to become a U.S. citizen during your formative years?
It just boggles my mind that no effort was made by your parents or you to become a naturalized U.S. citizen in the correct and proper way. I would think this would have saved a lot of effort today if they and their parents had taken care of business.

Good Lord. Is the Sun/Daily Bulletin just another left wing rag? Yesterday 2 bogus articles on homosexuals in the military and today a pity party for illegals. What is next? Open up the prisons and let those 40,000 criminals loose on the street because it is good for THEIR health?
I like how you think!!
