A 220 pound central Virginia gal should be able to fight her way out of most any situation.

No, why should we feed them? Give them an open door to Mexico so we can return the favor.

That is what I said when this story first broke out, that she may have been sent to Mexico as a slave. But my report was deleted.

I've got news for you, not all Human Traffickers are illegal Aliens. In fact, in these United States there are mostly the very inner-city scum that are usually involved with drug dealing and prostitution.

The shameful thing is these cases can be prevented if they bothered to educate the populace. But the biggest hurdle to such efforts are the parents themselves. A lot of them take the "Ostrich" approach to parenting and actually get mad when you dare to tell them that these types of crimes can happen to their children.

My heart goes out to the family and I hope they find her soon.

Educate the younger generation , some parents will just never get it .

I wonder if a teacher has went off script around maybe 6th grade and just give the kids a come to Jesus meeting on the dangers of the internet. I am sure a few have. Maybe Parents should take an online test before their kids are able to attend school, few simple but needed topics for younger children and teens also ?

One of the many reason they won't let me be a teacher , I would send homework home for MOMA and DADDY , or today, Grandma and Grandad raising their grand-kids, keep it simple and make them accountable for a little knowledge also , like expected of their kids.

FWIW - There was a group in the area just a few days before this girl went missing, I remember it on the news.

HARRISONBURG - The "EndItMovement" was on its way to Washington, D.C., but made a stop to James Madison University's campus Thursday. The movement is trying to bring awareness to the world's slavery problem.

*sigh* then what? Most police stations aren't prepared to deal with human trafficking cases. American girls between 12 - 14 are the largest demographic for human trafficking (shocking isn't it - and not what one expects!).

The number one way to find these girls is via social media sites. Though it seems like something from a movie the truth is that human traffickers don't let go of these girls and they often have to go into hiding because the traffickers want them back.

As humans we should be appalled by this! There are only about 50 beds in this country to house recovered victims to help them cope & to protect them. Many are shocked to find out that many of these rescued girls end up in Juvenile Detention just to keep them safe - they committed no crime. Those that live undercover, like those in detention get no psychological assistance - the problem is just so much bigger than we realize and much bigger than the media portrays.

Check out http://www.project-liberty.com for a group that tries to help with this and for more information. As mothers, sisters, fathers, brothers we need to be better prepared to help our young women.

Jennifer Romero's step-father, Ronald Flores, says he believes she called a family member for about thirty seconds to say that she is fine. She didn't say where she was, but that phone call has made things a little easier for them.

May be good news . I wonder who verified her voice . Mom I hope.
