IRS Delays Refunds

Some early filers may have to wait a week longer than expected for their refund checks this year, as the Internal Revenue Service tweaks its computer system to prevent refund fraud.

Why wasnt my money on my emerald card today? I`m so upset spent all kinds of money to get my taxes back early & noithing!

Yes I was supposed to get mine on the 25th or the1st. And check my bank account this morning & nothing there.

The IRS is holding all refunds until Congress approves another dept ceiling limit. Right now they are balking at the idea because Obama had a dept ceiling increase 5 months ago, so politics are holding up the checks.

I know of people who have received their refunds. Although, if this is true, more of a reason to vote these idiots out.

Not true. The IRS is installing some sort of fraud prevention software and that is causing a one week delay...so they say. Not sure why they didn't install it prior but that's the story...look it up. Has nothing to do with the debt ceiling.

Filed on the 24th, got my money today. No emarald card scam, no refund loan, just my money.

At last !!!! someone who has something positive to say :)God.... i can't believe how negative folks are. I was due my check yesterday on my emerald card.I didn't get it, but what good does it do to complain and worry ? I figure that it will get to me asap.I can't change, can't control it, so I set it free ! Sorry so many are so mad and dishearted by this. And.... Last but not least......some of us are on disability and working , and yes, we do loan the government our money, but we do get it back. Rude comments only reap rude comments and hurt feelings. I kind of agree with this dick. Why do you people let the government over-tax you all year only to have to sit and wait to get some of your money back? I filled out my tax form when I started my job and claimed the highest number of deductions allowed so that I get the most money throughout the year. I'll take my money now, thank you.

Well I filed my taxes on Jan 17th still nothing. I checked state it will be here on the 7th. But it's awful odd that there is nothing in the IRS website about my federal.
