It is beyond me how anyone can take a tragedy like this and begin to call each other names or offend an entire community.

Ballston Spa is mourning the loss of a child and there are people out there actually making fun of, laying blame, and putting people down. That in itself is tragic.

Ballston Spa is an amazing community and I am very proud to be a resident and a teacher here. My students are having a very difficult time with the loss of their friend, as are his family and loved ones are. I can't imagine being 13 and having to deal with the loss of a peer. It's difficult enough for adults to grieve for someone's death.

Please put this nonsense to rest so that Nick can rest in peace.

Nick, I hope you're playing a song for us and ignoring this nonsense that some seem to think is more important.

I didn't read anyone blaming any one. What I read was Heartbroken trying to tell young people don't let this loss of a great young man's life go to waste...do something positive, get an education...I then read a young person using bad language and insults again because it appears reading skills escape some. The facts as I see them are a young man died needlessly, no blame other than they themselves made a bad choice to go off swimming where there was no lifeguard. People make bad choices everyday and unfortunately there are many bad consequences to those bad choices. Stop being angry, it solves nothing. I do know the IP addresses that show up are not necessarily represetative of the actual home address, so you are wrong about that. I personally do not live in Albany, but in BSps and I show Albany. Please remember there are family and friends of both families that are grieving for many factors and hate helps no one. Please whoever reads this, remember life is precious and can be gone in a flash. I think if we all think before we act, maybe there will be less tragedy for us all. I hope Heartbroken was trying to say education is key and it did apear spelling was a bit off from the first entry. I am a mom of 4 boys and I cannot comprehend the feeling that these families are experiencing, but I believe if 1 person can do better, not die because of this unfortunate tragedy, then Nick's life will live on forever. Can someone tell me who Josh is?
In answer to your last question, who Josh is, he is someone who has nothing to do with this story. He is someone that MBS feels the need to bring into every forum and trash. Josh is the young man who went missing in Albany on December 23rd after he went out drinking to celebrate his friend's 21st birthday. We who know Josh, know that his death was NOT an accident as was ruled by the APD after both autopsies showed drowning. The APD closed the case with a lot of questions unanswered. But as I said before he has nothing to do with this story and I'm sorry that he was brought into it. If you do want to know more about Josh, go to BADEN TO DO 2ND AUTOPSY and read from the beginning of the blog. Again I am sorry he was dragged into this story because of an idiot who spreads nastiness in every forum they go to. I also would like to say I am very sorry about Nick. My prayers are with his family and friends. I have seen the effects of young people dying too much this past year.

nick was a great kid. && Kim was a great mother. Everyone who thinks parenting skills wouldda helped obv. didn't know what a great family they were. Nick was my cousins half brother. But ii thought of him as family. He wasn't the best swimmer. But arguing over why he died isn't gonna help the fact that he's gone.

both heartbroken and mbs, do you not know albany is like the 6th safest city in the country? yeah shootings happen and robberies, but that also could happen everywhere.
don't stereotype. thats just rude & immature.
clearly heartbroken is only thinking about him/herself in this situation.

Why do you attack the town... The town is only as good as the people in it. If you think a town is bad ... perhaps you aren't hanging around with a good crowd. A young person lost his life here.. it should be about consoling the family and friends.. if you have nasty to say... this is not the time for it... bad judgment, being a kid, a child still lost his life. Have a little compassion.

okay, this is what I think. I think that all of you need to stop fighting, which if you think about it its all because of someone spelling some words wrong which is a pretty ridiculous reason to fight, especially when you could be doing something about this death like donating things to the family who lost their child at a young age, or you could be trying to prevent things like this from further happening.
think about it

Morgan, I understand where you are coming from. Instead of posting anger ...why don't you tell us what made Nick so special. Tell us what made him a good friend.. tell us nice things. don't tell people to shut up. That is going to start even more anger. ..repsect your friend and tell us about him. I heard he had a band...tell us good things Thanks...and sorry for the loss of your friend.. I lost two friends while I was in school. It hurts so much...

Though time passes ... We are reminded how special our children are. Take time each and every day to tell the ones you love how special they are. We never know when they will be taken from us...Saying goodbye
Was the hardest thing to do
I never thought I would
Especially not to you.

You always listened
And knew what to say
Knew when to give a hug
When I was having a bad day.

No one will ever take your place
I can always promise you this
It’s hard to find someone like you
So know you’ll always be missed
