The 'power' of visual impact

There are 3 comments on the Estes Park Trail-Gazette story from Jun 7, 2012, titled The 'power' of visual impact. In it, Estes Park Trail-Gazette reports that:

I drove through Glen Haven not long ago while Estes Park Light and Power was in the midst of putting up new electrical poles for the circuit upgrade and I was surprised at how the bright orange and yellow extensions stood out in sharp contrast to the original poles.

Note to Wayne Groome regarding the jogging/horse trail along Fish Creek Road. During the process of modifying the trail so as not to remove the beaver ponds, several alternatives were suggested by independent citizens in order to keep the trail away from Fish Creek Road. One was to insert pilings and build a heavy wooden walk with some overhang along the water in those sections closest to the road. This would have raised the trail above and away from traffic. This was rejected by the engineer in charge of the project. Suggestions of pipe barriers to separate the trail surface from the road were likewise rejected. Those who are in charge of public projects in Estes Park are the accidents waiting to happen. They seldom if ever listen and push to complete projects, necessitating subsequent repairs and corrections. We need to hold our politicians and those who work for Town Hall responsible for thinking out projects. They are often horrible at making constructive decisions and like many old men, never listen to suggestions. They know too much, they think.
As for now, raised heavy boardwalks can be installed like the ones used in the Park for horse traffic. This would cost alot more now than when it was suggested, but this is all part of the stuborn learning curve necessary in Estes Park.
Thanks Glen Haven

now crawl back in your hole. You chose to live in the ghetto that is Glen Haven, and don't even deserve lights or electricity. Skin a possum and have another craft show.

Kurt,

Those orange extensions and guides are only temporary allowing EP Light and Power to provide uninterrupted service to Glen Haven.
