Should read slacker glides into wall. My guess is Phelps was coerced to return. The US and NBC needed as many marketing tools as possible.

He's tired and unmotivated. The 60 Minutes piece clearly showed that. The pot incident also showed he was tired of training and just how disciplined & mature he actually was/is at his age. He would've been better taking an Olympics or two off and pull a Dara Torres years later.

Last time he doped.

This time he didn't.

That's the difference.

The say it's his big feet and hands which is what this Chinese girl has. I wouldn't have put it past him to have doped as many others on the team. When these athletes really want to win(at all cost) then he might dope but this time he just doesn't want it enough.

Those drugs and wild parties have done Michael Phelps in. In the old days he was a gold machine.

There is an old saying among Olympic athletes,"you don't dope you don't win".

Not enough steroids this time. The Olympics used to be about competition and the human spirit and now it is win at all costs. I am sure most of the swimmers and track and field athletes are on the juice. It is simply who can mask them the best.
