Why would you put standard train delays with the same article of the suicide. It lessens the importance of this article and I find it would be insulting to the friends and family.

Just a site for providing informational news to those around the area involving different types of news regarding railroads in their areas.

Could be from transit delays, to derailments, and of course the usual and controversial human death factor.

Do people really have things that bad, that they rather throw themselves in front of a speeding train. the thought of ever doing such an act scares me more than why they would do it ion the first place. as for this comment;,
"If the person was from Wyandanch then it probably wasn't much of a loss." you are assuming it is a African-American Male, its still a life, boo-yaa to you.

Imagine being a commuter on that line from that station and this dude just jumps off the platform in front of that speeding train right before your eyes!!

Identity not released?? Was there even anything left of him?

how could you say such a thing? regardless of where the person's from, should their life be worth any less than your own? you don't really know what this person may have been going through that led them to such a tragic end. FYI: most commuters at that hour in wyandanch are caucasians from dix hills going to their white collar jobs in manhattan, and further more the deceased is a 31 year old white male...my assumption, from dix hills

Seeing the intelligence of some of these posts, I am surprized that Newsday even bothers to have a blog as stupid as this one.

Plus the train had a woman that spoke non stop for one hour at the top of her lungs on a cell phone. Worse her entire conversation was not in English!

Shouldn’t the article be entitled “Man kills himself by jumping in front of LIRR Train” rather than Wyandanch pedestrian hit and killed by LIRR train? Am I mistaken assuming the train did not jump off the tracks and run down an innocent pedestrian? Newsday is a ridiculously biased newspaper, how anyone can read the rag is beyond my comprehension.

This writer and paper get a bonus from the railroad for jury tampering with the suicide statement? What, the victim stubbed his big toe ten years ago therefore it must have been suicide?

Why not "Wyandanch pedestrian hit and MURDERED by LIRR train
going too fast with sucky brakes and no steering when video equipment has been available for DECADES to see a problem ahead and get the train stopped"!!!!!

Funny how the one calling people stupid is the one who can't even spell "surprised" correctly.

There's a train coming in 5 minutes...be under it, dummy.

If you buy now, you will find a house like the one you bought for $100K or more less than what you paid. You effectively will be catching a falling knife and become instantly underwater on your mortgage! Imagine going to the bank and asking, "I'd like to open an account for minus (-)$100K". After years of deposits adding up to $100K you will have $0 in the account. Silly isn't it? Well that is exactly what you will be doing if you bought a house right now. Maybe a little more, or a little less, but either way doesn't sound too good does it?

only a fool would e thinking of buying a home now on long island , be smart dont buy ,,

real estate agents all have the same story they tell everyone is a great time to buy ,, if it was such a good time to buy why then is no one buying anything , there liars there worse than used car salesmen ,, dont make the mistake and buy a home now , this market is flat , we have never seen anything like this in our life and we will never see it againg in our life , prices will decline as much as 50% in some area , a house is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it ,and people arent paying anymore , either sellers could keep there home and prey to god that the market rebounds in 10 to 15 years or they need to reduce a major reduction in price is needed , sellers are in denial, they still think in there head they can get 2005 prices ,, yea right

dont be a fool and buy a house now , you will be making a grand mistake , prices have no choice other than to drop , lots of sellers are in denial , read some on the links below and understand that if you are looking to buy a house now you are a fool ,

There is some reliable information out there on the web, but you have to search for it; any new information I come across you will find at the top of this page which I will continue to update whenever I can. The local news will not let you know the full true story about what is happening in the real world. If they're not telling you the full story than they are actually lying to you, don't trust them.
