An old timer once said that Santa Rosa used to be one single word until a Tularosa fullback busted up the middle so hard against the Lions that even its name got split in two.

Now,whether there is any truth to this remains to be seen.

But after watching Tularosa play this year, I think some people would believe it to be true.

All I know is: the Santa Rosa Lions will soon know the legacy that is Tularosa football.
So in the words of Antoine Dodson, "run and tell dat...homeboy".

Legend has it that Santa Rosa was once located close to Tularosa, somewhere near what is now known as Boles Acres. But after the Wildcats steamrolled the Lions in a Friday night football game, the town relocated to where it is today.

We are who they thought we were!

Legacy? steam rolling? I seem to recall both santa rosa losses being by a combined less than 20 points. I recall a 56-7 beating in 2008 by Santa Rosa. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Adrift in a sea of hate and sadness
Tulie Bulie lost in his thoughts
Rudeness can be taken so harsh
when meant to be taken lightly
but he knows not whatt he speaks of

A slip of his filthy tongue is all it takes
and suddenly he is alone
boxed in a world of hate or fears
a world of tears

Cruelty is it's game
life it's name
ever changing, rapidly sweeping Tulie Bulie along
like a roller coaster he can't stop
and he spins wildly spins
out of control
scenes from earlier on this ride of life
flashes through his mind

The walls are closing in on Tulie Bulie
The room begins to spin
He falls to his knees and
begs for it to stop
he begs and pleads for
forgiveness knowing
that he is wrong

He has been rude and hateful,
said too much,
he says it will never happen
again and yet we see it
every week after the Wildcats
are victorious and he knows
he will do anything
in his power to keep it
from happening again but
has no self control.
Tulie Bulie, you love the WILDCATS
and you are fully aware that you can not fight
like this with them
so you plead for forgiveness.

WILDCATS, shall we forgive this poor lost soul?

Don't get too excited. Your Santa Rosa Lions will suffer the same fate that the last 19 teams have. And they might as well wear black uniforms, because they will get 'smoked', as if they were charbroiled with a side of green chile. Then, you will have nothing to say.
Put that in your big mouth and chew it.

Focusing on the receivers will do nothing, becasue then, the Wildcats will run over the Santa Rosa defense like a bowling ball hitting 11 hapless pins.
And don't bring your noseplugs, bring your earplugs, because A) you will need them and B) the day you left, Tulie stopped smelling.

Let's just hope #24 and #8 show a little more respect and restraint when OUR National Anthem is being sung. I am set to see a great win for the Wildcats but lets not damper that with the lack of respect for our flag. Go Wildcats!!
