crazy game last night - your thoughts?

In the 5th inning our boys mounted a comeback and went ahead 7-6 with just a few minutes left to play.
Here is a snapshot of the setting:
The time is 7:17 and we are home team.
Both teams agreed the game would not have a new inning after 7:20 (because we started 5 min late).
We have one out. We have just scored 4 runs and now have a runner on 3rd base. There is a five runs per inning rule that has to be observed.
Our batter is two pitches into his at bat and I turn to look into the dugout.
Suddenly a ball is thrown by the catcher into the opening where our on deck batters are standing. I was uncertain where the ball came from and turned for clarification. At this moment, I am being told by the umpire (behind the plate) that this is an errant throw by the Nationals and my runner on 3rd needs to advance to home. I asked again for clarification.
At this moment, the National coaches are trying to help clarify that I need to send my guy home from 3rd (and the home plate umpire is in agreement). The home plate umpires words were,Theres a first time for everything.
So with less than a minute to play (approx 7:19) and only one out, I concede because the umpire is telling me I need to send my guy home. This move now means we've scored our 5th run and we will start a new inning before 7:20.
