Awful starting pitching and lack of contact hitters...no fan support. Payroll $15m...Loria profit on revenue sharing. {see you at the beach.}

From Beckett, Penny, Pavano, Willis, and Redmond,
To Hendrickson (who?), VandenHurk (who?), Miller (who?), Olsen(best known for fighting cops), and Nolasco (nuff said).
What a great job of improving the pitching by Loria!

VandenHurk??? Why not Nolasco, Atleast he has proven when healthy that he can pitch. But VandenHurk??? What has he done? Why this love affair with this guy? Except for one outing even Volstad pitched better. VandenHurk??? It's frustrating when even us fans can see what's obvious and not the person who gets pais to do it!

5 INNINGS 7 HITS 5 WALKS 2 RUNS IF THAT'S A GOOD OUTING THAN A WALK IS A GOOD THING. THE TWO BEST PITCHERS ARE GOING TO THE MINORS VOLSTAD AND BEDINHOP . THE OPPORTUNITY IS THERE BUT THE STARTING PITCHING IS GOING TO BE DISASTROUS.

Remember, spring training stats must be taken with a grain of salt. That being said, management probably prefers that the Volstad gets some more seasoning in the minors. And Nolasco had injury problems this spring, so they probably don't want to rush him right back into the starting rotation.
