Does "Chip" have real qualifications for the job? Or is the office a monarchy now?

Nobody should be surprised at this. This is the only way things get done in Loudon County. I am a little disappointed in Van.
I usually agree with him and appreciate that he is back on the web with facts we sometimes we don't get anywhere else.
I don't agree with him in this case because it sounds like he is making excuses for what is just more cronyism and nepotism in Loudon County politics.
Maybe Mr. Miller's son was the most qualified. I don't know whether he was or not. We have no idea why he was chosen by those who voted him in, and we will never know.(I guess they did say they needed to fill the position quickly. That doesn't tell us why Mr. Miller's son was the one most qualified to fill it.)
The politicians take full advantage of the fact that enough people are naive or just don't care for them to continue business as usual.

Thanks, Vote. Looks to me like they had several qualified candidates to choose from including Mr. Miller. Hopefully he will be able to take advantage of some of his father's advice and experience as well.
No one should be hired because of family affiliation nor should he have been ruled out. I feel better anyway.
