What part of "just a guess" means "certain" to you?

Did you ever think the team could actually be looking to add people as opposed to selling at the deadline?
I think Kenny cleared that up for us the other day when he started blaming fans for not showing up.

I know it horrifies you, but the team could actually make the playoffs.\
All they need is the Tigers and Twins to fall apart.

Besides - the team is very high on Jhonny Nunez as a potential closer.
Poreda's future has hardly been determined, nor has anyone else's for this season.
That could be the dumbest thing anyone has ever said on these boards, quite an accomplishment. But thanks for pointing out that the future isn't determined.
Are your Pom Poms mixed black and white or do you have one white and one black one? There is no way you are a male.

Wow. This article has been up since last night and so far only one person has been ripping on the Sox. If this were a Cubs article, how many "1908" posts would there be by now? Just goes to show that Cubs fans have better things to do than trash the Sox. I wish I could say the same of Sox fans...

That may be true for most Cubs fans, but obviously, that's not YOUR case.

You're "one of those" Cubs "fans" who is obviously more obsessed with the Sox than the Cubs. More reasonable people would have withheld their comment, as you were right to the extent that the lack of "ripping" posts here speaks well for Cubs fans.

...then you showed up.

I hope you're ridiculed by real Cubs fans for being a chump who gives them a bad name.

The real irony here is that you're apparently not smart enough to see the hypocrisy in your post.

Doug, you are a very, very special kind of stupid. You probably don't even realize that you're nothing but a troll.

Instead of putting the word "fans" in quotes to describe the clueless Cubs fanboys, I think I'm going to call them "Dougs" from now on.

Wow, must have struck a nerve. Point out the fact that this board is actually baseball talk instead of littered with Cubs fans bashing the Sox, and some Sox fan gets all defensive and resorts to insults. You just see some Cubs fan coming on to a Sox board and you go into attack mode. What is wrong with you?

And for the record, go ahead and look at any Cubs story on here and count how many "1908" posts there are. I mean, there could be an article about what Reed Johnson's favorite flavor of ice cream is and you will get dozens of "1908" posts for sure. And the funny thing is, you get so defensive about the White Sox, yet I said nothing bad about them at all. Got issues, Chaos?

Hey; I'm a cub fan and don't discount my work on the Sox Boards. I spend my whole day on them basing a team from 90 years ago. Whadya want me to do instead; watch the the 2009 chicago cubs? A fate worse than death.

i don't know where you're getting this information from, but there is no WAY poreda will ever close for us. he is bred, and has had all his success as a starting pitcher.

on another note. richard is our #5 pitcher. this is what they do. they bomb on occasion.

poreda should be inserted into the rotation at #5, as the ceiling is much higher. richard should only be trade bait...

Everything you don't like is the dumbest thing people said on this board.

And while what I say may be "obvious," it's a fact.

The season is long, and so long as this team is in the hunt, the approach should be to buy as opposed to sell.

Furthermore, the team needs to use patience in dealing with people to the fullest extent possible before passing judgment.

Had people and their knee-jerk ways won out, Contreras would have been cut, Ramirez sent back to Cuba, Dye and Konerko traded, Jenks traded, Getz sent down, Floyd sent down or traded and a whole host of other irrational decisions.

Luckly, Kenny Williams, the man you hate, takes a more patient approach, and his patience has worked.

At the All-Star break, the team will be within striking distance.

If the team tanks? Then trade. Until then, I feel it should be a week-by-week assessment of the players, and plans made accordingly.

That's how you handle a long season.

The next piece to figure out? Whether Colon or Richard should take the No. 5, or possibly Poreda.

I personally think it should be Colon -- who did OK as a No. 5 guy considering the team wasn't hitting.

Richard has been brutal as of late, but unless Colon can come back like Jose Contreas, I'd rather have him than "Fat Boy" Harpo Marx Colon !! Way more upside with Richard, Ozzie needs a very short leash on him and needs to have an arm ready in case he start out as bad as yesterday in his next game.

Why would I do that? I'm not interested in the Cubs, and I'm not a troll, so I'm not going to go there. You see, smart people have this ability called "restraint" to avoid things we don't necessarily care for, and not make comments about things we claim to not care for. You, on the other hand, apparently lack this ability.

My only issue is that you are a hypocrite, so much so that you try to rationalize it.

The fact of the matter is this: you came here and commented about the lack of anti-Sox posts, and then made one yourself. You are obviously not a real Cubs fan, but instead just a troll who isn't smart enough to realize that you're doing the VERY THING that you accuse others of doing.

I don't have issues, I just have problems with people who are too stupid to realize that they're doing the VERY THING they are bashing others for doing. If anyone has "issues," I'd say it's the person who can't even realize their own actions.

You don't know enough about baseball to make a worthwhile post, that's why you just troll.

If you're really a Cubs fan, complain to the people you're whining about, don't come here and try to bait other people into your trolling.

My bashing you has NOTHING to do with you claiming to be a Cubs fan, and everything to do with you being too stupid to realize that you ARE the person that you bash in your post. The posts here were relevant to the story until you showed up.

People like you give real Cubs fans a bad name.

Every pitcher will bomb on occasion. However SEVEN NON-QUALITY STARTS in a row is just pathetic. Clayton Richard is no starter, and why they keep focusing on this guy over Poreda, and before he was traded, Lance Broadway (who always looked decent as a starter), is a mystery to me. Richard didn't look all that great last year either, but you tack SEVEN consecutive non-quality starts on that, and IMO, it's clear - this dude isn't fit to be a MLB starter.

And so do most Sox fans apparently. Why else would the Cubs boards be littered with "1908" postings on every single Cubs story? And smart people don't just avoid things they don't care for. Smart people can actually engage in conversation about something they don't care for and express why they don't care for it. It's called a debate.

How am I a hypocrite? I pointed out the fact that there wasn't much Sox bashing on here and compared it to the Cubs boards that are full of "1908" posts. I said nothing bad about the White Sox themselves. I could have brought up so many things about the Sox, but I said nothing. Which leads me to believe the Sox bashing you think I was doing was just the fact that I, a Cubs fan, had the audacity to post something on a Sox board. The nerve! Oh and by the way, smart people also have this thing called "not using the Caps Lock key for no reason". Notice how I don't use the Caps Lock key and notice how you do.

You don't know enough about baseball to make a worthwhile post, that's why you just troll.
And you know I know nothing about baseball how? I only made an observation on the Sox fans posting on the Cubs boards compared to the Cubs fans lack of posting on the Sox boards. How could you possibly judge my baseball knowledge based on that? Or maybe you, like many Sox fans, just think that all Cubs fans don't pay attention to the game, just go to Wrigley to drink and be seen...hold on, let me go over to the Cubs boards and see what else you Sox fans say about going to Wrigley... Oh, the bathrooms are terrible and the food stinks and there's no parking. Thanks for telling me what to say, Sox fans on Cubs boards.

I do complain to my fellow Cubs fans. Actually, it's more like take pitty on you with my fellow Cubs fans. We cannot see how Sox fans could be so obsessed, so addicted to everything Cubs. It's sad too, that instead of focusing on your 2005 World Series win, you bring up the fact the Cubs haven't won since 1908 more often. It's sad, and you do have issues. So please, for your own good, get some help!

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Virgo

Someone is easily angered today, and you'll want to tiptoe around them at every opportunity. They might be on the defensive and imagine that you're getting at them all the time, or they could be quick to point the finger of blame straight at you. It won't be an easy day, but try not to get swept up in the emotional dramas that are swirling around you. They'll only exhaust you.
