Broncos Mailbag: What's wrong with Peyton Manning and his Broncos?

Best question of the mailbag season, Barbara. There were many reasons why the Broncos blew it, blew it, blew it in New England.

They blew it, blew it , blew it because they ran, ran, ran the ball. All year, peyton has passed more successfully by far than any QB in the NFL--maybe ever, and it's won games for the Broncos, putting up high scores.

So why virtually NO passing against Pats? Teams don't win in the NFL by running. When Denver did decide to pass, Manning put together an 80 yard drive that was an example of how the game SHOULD have looked from the beginning.

There was something really off about that game. It was almost as if they were trying to lose.

Better question, what's wrong with the other 30 teams in the NFL that have a worse record than the Broncos?

And what's wrong with the Patriots? They lost the week before and only scored 3 points more than the Broncos. Plus, those 24 points in the first half were ugly.

Consider the Pats three losses. One to the Jets due to the officials calling a block in the back that they refused to call the three times the Jets did it themselves. One to the Panthers after two officials who were not in position to make the call convinced the one who was to pick up his flag. And a third where Belichick should have thrown his red flag which would has not only tied the game but given Brady another game with a TD pass (would have been 53rd and the following week would have tied the record). Then a record rain downpour that lasted all of three minutes made it impossible for Brady to keep a grip on the ball. Pats nearly undefeated.
