Did they pull her head out when they retrieved the phone or is it still firmly tucked?

This girl deserves what she got. Despite the fact she obviously didn't learn from this lesson, i'm sure we will here more about this in the future. I do agree, cell phones should be banned from school, they are a distraction and a nuisance!

Her Parents may not care about her behavior, but I am sure they care about their wallets, make cost (with fine on top of fine) and her behavior will cease.Guaranteed!

Texting is woerse than talking in class. It is disruptive, wasteful, and lends itself to cheating.

How's this:
Any child caught using a cell phone, texting, or any other communication device in the classroom is wasting taxpayer money; She should have her taxpayer tuition withdrawn for that entire scholastic year; and her parents will be assessed the cost of educating her for that year.

This will put and end to the wacky idea of 'parents' that their little darlings have a basic right to use cell-phones in school.

When I went to school our biggest sin was throwing spitballs,.. ,.. will never forget the time I put a snake in the teachers drawers,...I used to put skunk bags over the school house doors , then when they opened it up it would bust ,.. what innocent fun,...

but again the kid was 14 and if some officer touched my kids ass without my knowledge for nothing more than a cell phone there would be trouble.

Don't do that to your child.

Is way wrong.

If your child does something wrong...waylay them...as if you were the law. I promise you...your child will be just fine... Not to mention will thank you later in life.

If is a law. Is a law. Period. To teach your child to keep in accordance with the laws is the right way to go about it. Even if you don't agree ...with said law.

Somehow I managed to to grow up with a cell phone and my parents knew where I was because they raised me to be responsible and let them know where I was going and who I was going to be with and when I was coming home. These days parents let the cell phone be the babysitter and have no idea where the kid is or what he/she is doing as long as they can reach said kid on the phone.

I sure didn't sit in class and try to hide electronic gadgets down my pants and end up being arrested.

I'm sorry, I did not catch that an officer touched the girl's ass in the article.

Was that anything like ...sexual harrasment?

Is an officer did touch the girls ass...I would find myself second re-thinking my last post. As you...I would up and kill me an officer.

If a female officer did the touching...Is called 'search'.

Here we have a textbook example of why our schools have become the hellholes they are today.

Jack*ss parents who want no one to do ANYTHING to their precious little Johnnie/Janie - no matter how the little savage is behaving.

Jail is exactly where idiot parents like you belong.

You sound like my husband with his son (my stepson). This kid went through 3 or 4 years of school constantly getting in trouble, but dad was always right there blaming the teachers, the principal, the bus driver - never the brat himself.

Now this kid is 19, an unemployed high school dropout who sits around the house doing absolutely nothing until his dad's payday rolls around. Then his hand comes out and his father (fool that he is) doles out the cash.

Yes, it DOES make me angry and yes, it IS a strain on our relationship. Why is it that some parents think their kids' sh*t doesn't stink and they end up making worthless bums out of them?

well you know times change.
my kids have much respect for authority and so did i,but my mom has often said she wished cells were available in my teen years for peace of mind.
my kid at home had a tracking device on her phone i know where she is all the time but she rarely went anywhere.
still i dont think an officer had any right to cavity search the kid. a good old fashioned paddle would have been great as long as i was there to supervise it.
