Not one of the ESPN pundits gave WVU a shot; NOT ONE!!! Shame on you Lee. And here I thought you were a tally good-ole-boy. AND, Kirk Herbstreit is scared of chickens!!! Ya gotta love that. WVU proves em wrong again, and Herbstreit is scared of chickens.

Texas Tech just handed you some respect, your head, and your whimpering mama's behind. Bet you Mountain Folk will finally learn how to lose gracefully here in the Big 12. Don't need your 25 cents in lunch money now. We own your team and the bus they rode in here on.

Yeah! Texas Tech just proved ESPN wrong and the Vegas point spread is in shambles. Watching the #9 in the nation score it's second touchdown against second and third stringers was priceless. Just think, you Mountainbillys still have to go up against Kansas St. and Oklahoma. Maybe you might get a bowl trip this season-say the Foot-In-Ass Bowl in Mexico?

If any of you want to share a word with me, come on down to the Austin Texas Forum Topix. I will send you some left over 'sun block' and the name of a good cosmetic surgeon to help you all replace that foreskin you lost off your butts-that's how far you got peeled back today in Lubbock.

To loose by 5 (five), 1,2,3,4,5-count'um-touchdowns to an un-ranked team is, well, pitiful. Anyone got a dozen good excuses? No?

Payback: You must be a Texas fan.(Like I didn't see that coming.) And in answer to your questions, not one excuse, let alone a dozen. Seth Doege played lights out (Unlike the week before against Oklahoma; they must have been looking ahead); Geno Smith had a bad day (Imagine completing 29/55 for 275 yards, 1 TD, no INT's and it being called a bad day.); Tech's defense played...well, they still allowed 408 yards total offense (268 yards less than WVU allowed); WVU's defense...ahem.

That sad part about this whole story is nobody has an answer. Joe DeForest certainly doesn't. I have no doubt WVU will bounce back. But if their defense doesn't challenge themselves and take on a sense of pride...

Oh, by the way, don't forget you lines before talking smack. You know...

"What is your name?"

"What is your quest?"

"What is your favorite color?"

Oh, and when the king shows up, consider a question other than, "What is the average airspeed velocity of an unlaiden swallow?" That didn't work out for you as I recall. Enjoy!!!

Let us revisit the scene of the crime. What were all those posts from WV fans aiming to do, including yours? And what was my response about you better take it all, or the peel job begins.

Now let's "airspeed", whatever the hell you're talking about, forward.

You assume too much if you think I am just a Texas U. fan-typical bad assumption from someone who knows nothing about anyone they have never met.

"Not one excuse, let alone a dozen", you say.

Then you say, WV was looking ahead (1), Seth played over his head (2), Geno had a bad day (3), WV defense (4), nobody has an answer (5), WVU will bounce back (6) if defense doesn't challenge themselves (7), and I was the one talking smack (8).

You still have four more non-excuses left. You care to dazzle us "steers" and "queers" with your laden swallow bs? Or would you feel more comfortable just watching the rest of WVU's season unravel in the Big 12 and keeping your mouth shut?

Elementary, my dear Payback. Or should I call you Watson? You sure deduce more like him than like Sherlock. So, back to the scene of the crime then.
Thow accusest me of assuming too much by thinking you're a Texas fan. Tis you, however who hath succumbeth to the dreaded ass-u-me syndrome. I said, "You must be a Texas fan." It was based on your mantra, "Payback" and your rhetoric to date; five (Count em, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5!) posts devoted just to giving WVU fans the what-for after WVU lost to TX Tech. That doesn't mean you don't like A&M, Baylor, Houston, N Texas, TCU (The list goes on.), let alone Tech. I have a couple of friends who enjoy Texas (as in the state) football from high school to pro. Why not tee as well?
"What were all those posts from WV fans aiming to do, including yours?" Since you asked, especially since you included mine, one was smack-talk, like unto your posts. Two were shout-outs to other fans; no disrespect to anything Texas there. Mine was exactly as it was. The game day crew didn't think WVU could beat the Long Horns.(OK, I also got a big kick outta Herbstreit being scared of a chicken.) Now, I can see you getting upset with the smack, but the other three posts; me thinks thow art a tad sensitive.
I didn't say WVU was looking ahead; readest the post carefully. I indicated that "they" as in Texas Tech must have been looking ahead (as in their home loss against Oklahoma). Which brings me to your accusing me (yet again) that, "Seth played over his head." Last year Seth completed over 68% of his passes for over 4000 yards, 28 TD's against 10 INT's. His completion percentage was better than Landry Jones, who only garnered one more TD, but threw for 5 more INT's. In other words, I knew going in this kid was for real, and he showed it, as in Lights Out, as in a Dick Vital, "Awesome, baby; he really distributed the rock." Duz ya gets it now?
Speaking of, "fan-typical bad assumption from someone who knows nothing about anyone they have never met," after six posts, you finally notice I'm from Nebraska. Surprise! I moved here from the northeast. I've never been a Huskers fan. I even work with two other WVU fans who moved out here before I did. Like you seem to, however, I miss the old Big-12. And to be honest, I thought from a geographic standpoint, it was silly for WVU to join the Big-12. Just my opinion...
Then, there's this, "...don't ya little feller?"
What are you, Dory from Finding Nemo?
Dory: "Come on little fella."
Marlin: "Ah, Dory, I'm a little fella. I don't think that's a little fella."
I guess it's a matter of perspective.
In short, No. I'm not comfortable watching the rest of WVU's season unravel in the Big 12 and keeping my mouth shut. Win or lose, I'll keep watching. Like any team, their season won't unravel over one loss; it'll only unravel if they don't play to their potential. So, let's see how it all plays out, shall we? You might be surprised. Enjoy!!!

Geez Zaccy, was that boos from those Mountainbilly people going into halftime? 31 to 7 ain't too bad. And hell, you still got 4 unused excuses and a half to go.

You like how it's playing out right now? Or are you feeling a little unraveled?

Welp, this iz a fine dish-o-crow I'm have'n. A little light on the garlic for my taste, and I would have liked portabellas to go with it, but...what the heck; crow is crow.

For my Mountaineers, it's back to the drawing board. I just hope they've got one big enough, because they've got a lot of work to do. Bad enough the defense has been just plain bad, but when the offense goes south for the winter...

Before the season started, I figured em for 9-3, maybe 10-2. While there were worries a plenty, my biggest were @ Texas, Kansas St, and @ Oky St. In fact, I was certain they'd lose one of the Texas games; if they pulled it out in Austin, they'd likely fall in Lubbock or vice versa. Then they played Baylor, and I thought, so much for my prediction because I knew better than to think that was gonna work all season. I just figured the losses would be more competitive. I didn't figure WVU would get blown out by TX Tech any more than most figured TX would get blown out by Oklahoma.

Kansas St, another ugly game for WVU. Klein was absolutely masterful. Like TX Tech has Doege, K-St has Klein for another year to boot. Their defense was phenomenal. Both of Geno's INT's were directly the fault of one guy who got way up to cause one and snare the other. If they continue the way they're playing, I think K-St may be one of the few teams in the country who can play Bama straight up. I think they'd crush Oregon.

Anyway, too much football left to play.(Who am I kidding? There's NEVER TOO MUCH football.) We'll see who can bounce back, who can keep up the good work, and whose got what left in the tank when it's over.

You know; it's funny you say that. Back when Coach Stew was hired (May God rest his soul.) Terry Bowden was my first choice for WVU to select as a head coach. Otherwise, I wanted Doc Holiday. But, WVU went with Stew. Now, here's what kills me: Three 9-3 seasons later, along comes Oliver Luck to replace Ed Pastilong. By, by Stew; hello Dana Holgorsen. That was enough to send Jeff Casteel running back to Rich Rodriguez. So who does Holgorsen hire? Joe Deforest, who's team gave up all kinds of points and yards last year. It gets back to the ole adage, "Be careful what you ask for."

I'm glad to see Marshall bounce back after two tough losses. Cato & Grooms both had decent days. If The Herd can defend their turf against UCF, I think they've got a shot at winning the rest. I'm tell'n ya; the West Virginia TV market has been good to the Big East. If Marshall can build on this and finish strong, what with WVU out, The Herd should get invited in. Crossing my fingers for em. Enjoy!!!
