Ray Rice has been the big difference in the Ravens' O this year/ He's a playmaker thats for sure. Take him away and what do you have? Flacco and Mason which is really about all they have IMO. LeBeau has a plan for Mr. Rice I'm thinkin. C'mon 7!

Ron Cook of the Post Gazette has a 'must see' column today. He talks about the methods the Ravens used to counter the Bronco success.
The Steelers, who play much the same way on D when LeBeau wants to press an offense at the seams, are very good at forcing the issue as well. The no huddle Cook points out, used by the Ravens in the 2nd half, should be over 30% of the Steeler offense against anybody IMO. Ben thrives when the offense dictates to the defense.

It is a big deal they won`t go 0-16. If they did they were going to tie Tampa Bay for the longest losing streak in NFL history. I keep telling myself there is no where to go but up!!

Ladies...I'll be going to the Broncos game on Monday night. And I can't wait to get off that plane and hit up a bar and tell those fuccing Broncos how they're gonna lose. I also know they're the worst sportsmanship fans in the entire league. And i'm gonna give them back what they try to give me, when we win.

Agreed (heartily). Kyle Orton left the last game he played us dazed and confused, and that was with a better team around him (the "snow tires" game in '05). This one's a win. I'm feeling good about it.

so guys, I find out today that the guy who tackled logan on the opening kick off against the browns was none other than anthony madison. he saved a td on that play and we sure could use him. also just in the browns released the dude. should the steelers pick him up? well the past 2 games and 2 tds on kick offs says yes. Is the chidi redux? you think they would learn not to get rid of your leading tackler on special teams.

Watching some footage of the Patriots passing attack really makes me shake my head and say WOW! Whatever you think of them, good or bad, they really know how to stress vertical coverage. Saw a play where one rec. runs a deep slant, one runs a deep post, both pulling the coverage down the center and left seam, while the 3rd rec., runs a hard crossing route from left to right, 3 yards past the line of scrimmage. Brady hits the very short cross in step and the rec. gets the corner in full stride and flies down the sideline for a 54 yard TD. Man! They mostly only run 3 rec.s out in coverage with 7 man protections, but they set up the defense by running killer crosses, and then, pull the coverage in to try and jump the short routes, only to get burned on a go route. I hope the Steelers coaches take time to see just how well they maximize the length and width of the field. The Steelers have more than comparable talent to exploit defenses in the same manner. Ben could feast on defenses with this type of detail in pulling defenders back and fourth all game long.

I NEVER understood letting go of Chidi. Having Frazier back for the Denver game makes me feel a little bit better, but Madison would be great. Eddie Royal is one person capable of delivering a Denver victory almost single-handedly, and we need every ST weapon we can find to stop him.

Interesting stat that explains a lot: The Browns rushing TD leader has a total of 2 touchdowns all year long. And he's a quarterback: Derek Anderson.

With Smith and Kirschke and Clark AND Timmons out for the game in Denver, I'm getting a little nervous about the defense for this game.

It's time to say, "May the REAL #92, please stand up!"
Yes Elvis will be in the building, but it's time to show:
"You don't tug on superman's cape,
you dont spit into the wind,
you don't pull, the mask off the ol' long ranger,
and you don't mess around with (James)."

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Sagittarius

It's difficult to keep your mind on what you're doing today because it keeps wandering off in all directions. There won't be much you can do about this except to be aware of it, and preferably to postpone doing anything very complicated or important until you're less distracted and absent-minded. Unfortunately, you won't get very far with it at the moment.
