This is BS. If this ball sat on my shelf at home and I didn't sell it (not likely, but you get the point), I would tell the IRS to shove it and prove it's worth and the income generated. If this is the case, the crooks at the IRS need to change things.

That's lame! If he doesn't sell it, it should not be considered income! The IRS is so money hungry, they just want to get anything they can! Leave the guy alone!

What a fricken crock of crap. It is a stupid ball, and really hit by a guy who only got there by using roids. I think the ball is WORTHLESS and Murphy should not have to pay taxes on it, maybe for the 10 bucks the MLB had to pay to get the ball originally. But for the IRS to now go after him for just having a good time is so redundant and dumb, but then again that is the IRS.
