As one after another Colt player left the team, I laughed as I read post after post say it didnīt matter how many players the Colts lost, because they were still going to win the Super Bowl and Bill Pollian was going to make wine out of water. Now with the loss of McFarland...WAKE UP colt fans!!! This is going to be nothing but a rebuilding year!!! I canīt remember any Super Bowl winner taking the hits the Colts have and come anywhere close to repeating. I wrote before that the Colts were not only loosing players, but depth and expereince and depth (for injuries and retirements) and experience count a sh-t load in the NFL. My Prediction: The Colts barely win their division (only because it is a weak division) and get BLOWN-OUT in their first playoff game. And yes, I am a fanatical Coltīs fan but Iīm a realist also.

Hmmmm....Colts are in fine shape. All they have to do is score a touchdown on EVERY possession...and win EVERY coin toss. What's the problem?

I think its a bit early to be making predictions when we are still a month from the first game. That being said, this team wins 10, 11, 12, 13 games until they show me otherwise. For far too many years in a row now we have gone into the season with the "oh we dont have Edge" " oh our defense, what about our defense". They have overcame everything everytime and there is absolutely no reason to think this season should be any different.

FOLKS THEY WERE THE WORST DEFENSE IN NFL HISTORY LAST YEAR.....HOW DID THAT TURN OUT?

I mean good Lord we were down over 3 tds in the second half of a playoff game and we won! Booger going down is something we cant overcome? PLEASE. They are still the most talented offense in the league and they are going to be their typical 28-35 pts per game team. They still have a better secondary and great rushers on D. Nothing has changed except Booger may not be with us.

Short of Peyton getting hurt, this team can lose anyone and still win 10 games. They have proven that over and over and over again. They will do it again this year.....and next year.....and the year after next year until Peyton hangs it up.

We are badly in need of adding some size to our D-line. I don't care if the Corey Simon signing didn't work out, we need to look at what's available on the market and make a move. Otherwise we are going to allow 200 yds a game on the ground.

DT's down with injury: Montae Raegor, Cory Simon, Booger McFarland, and counting.

What is it about this place that destroys DT's? Pitcock, you're next buddy. You might want to reconsider!

I don't care. We won the Superbowl, lets shoot for getting the number 1 pick this year and we can win the superbowl again next year.

You've been singing that tune since last season. Give them time to play until you predict the apocalypse again.

Wow. I guess you can't evaluate a unit till it gets run on or not but we are now really small across the front. This is a tough loss for the defense and the team. What can be done to fill the gap? Pitcock is our only 300-pounder and he is a rookie. It is a huge blow to a unit that didn't need another one.

I'm a Pats fan who (grudgingly) gives a lot of credit to the Colts for their comeback AFC title win and SB Championship. Those feats can never be taken away.

But I see this year going very badly for the defending champs. Their depth is no longer the question .... who the hell is actually going to start?? Drafting a slot receiver in the first round is a luxury that will the Colts couldn't afford. They'll do well to finish 9-7. As the Pats know, you have to be both lucky AND good to win it all.

And you need players.

Letīs go Hoosiers wrote, "Nothing has changed except Booger may no longer be with us." Did you just wake up from your winter hibernation??? Does someone need to inform you that Glenn, June, Harper, Davids, Rhodes, Doss, Reagor, McFarland, Stokley and a few other Colts are no longer with the team??? You also wrote that the Colts have "great pass rushers." What in the hell do the Colts need great pass rushers for??? No oppossing team will be stupid enough to pass the ball when they can run for 300-plus yards. The Colts games are going to look like the glory days of the Oklahoma Sooners wishbone against Ball State University

Unlike New England or the Niners this team will probably be one of the worst SB teams to defend their title in NFL history. We've been so lucky Peyton has never really been hit like 85% of the QB's in the league have been.(Kurt Warner's short career is a good example). Everything fell into place during the playoffs. One tough game at Baltimore, the rest at home and THEN playing against the worst SB qb ever -Rex Grossman. We'll ever get so lucky again. I can already hear the people crying about New England like they did before we beat them last year in the playoffs.

The biggest problem we had last year was small defensive line who were being manhandled by huge offensive lines. That left small (but fast) linebackers to make initial hits on big, strong running backs. But then, teams got hip and sent their extra linemen out to block the linebackers too, leaving safeties and corners to do the bulk of tackling, Thus the amount of injuries in our defensive backfield. This injury simply exaggerates the same problem. Our offense is going to continue to save us but it's going to be much harder to do now. Good luck coach, you are definitely going to need it!
