Herbet Moncier has not done anything bad enough to be banned from practicing law in any court in this country. He is almost into his 70's and one judge should not be able to take that right away from him. I know many lawyers, right here in Knoxville, who have done things much worse than this. They are still on the job. Why was this done under seal?

Some people speak truth to power; Moncier does so with equal power, and that is hard to those in power to tolerate. He also has a wonderful talent for getting under people's skin. This had to happen eventually; the wonder is that it took so long.

Moncier, with his ability and experience, will overcome this obstacle and it should be so! Give it a little time and it will so, unless he just throws in the towel and I don't believe this will happen.

Me either, Herbie is not one to throw in the towel. He may get on some nerves at times, but he does not back down and quiver in front of judges, like some attorneys I know. Any lawyer should be able to finish cases they have spent many hours working on, supension or not.

He should have thought about that the 100's of times he blatantly disobeyed orders by the judges presiding in his numerous cases throughout the years. Herb is well know for thumbing his nose at the judge, and even going so far as to taunt them with his arrogant refusal to do so. Like Serf said, it's a wonder he wasn't disbarred 20 years ago.

Were you in the court each time this happened? Where did you get all this knowledge? I did not know all this, I have only had to rely on the news sources. Thank you for your first hand knowledge. Are you a court reporter, court clerk, judge, lawyer or what?

I can tell you that in my profession, I have seen his "antics" on many, many, many occasions, and know that they are embarassing not only to him, but to everyone who witnesses it. He REGULARY taunts, disobeys, and mocks the judges and our entire judicial process. He thinks he's so far above the law that his behavior should not only be tolerated, but lauded. I guess he was wrong.

Thanks for your insights, Spunky. There's nothing like being on the spot to know what's really going on.

So why wasn't he disbarred by the many judges he has had cases before during those twenty years? All Herb Moncier wanted to do was consult with his client. That Federal judge should be impeached! Methinks you do not understand anything about the legal system, friend. When you learn a bit you can post again.

Oh, give me a break!!! Moncier is nothing but a horse's patoot. He needs to be sharing a prison cell with Thomas "Zoo Man" Huskey.

These are statements reflecting your opinion.I grew up with most of the lawyers and judges in Knoxville and all do not feel the same way about Herbie as you. Reporters nor anyone else knows what some attorneys in Knoxville have done behind closed doors at night in their offices. They are somethings much worse than being disrespectful to a judge. Your profession is not in law; however you are very JUDGEmental, don't you think?

You grew up with most of the lawyers and judges in Knoxville, huh? So how old, exactly, does that make you, as these judges and attorneys age in a wide variety of ranges...lol. I know MANY attorneys who feel exactly as I do about Moncier. YOu have no idea WHAT my profession is, and I never said I know what all the "attorneys in Knoxville have done behind closed doors at night in their offices." That statement is ludicrous.

yes, I grew up with many of the judges in Knoxville andlots of attorneys. They do range in all age groups, I am in one of them.I am sure there are many who feel the same way as you do, I said not all of them do. I never meant you knew about things that have happened, I meant knowing some of these who have not been banned from practing law, who have done some things that I do know about just doesn't seem fair when they want to bann Moncier for reasons cited in the news. Yo are entitled to your own opinion and so am I. I really am not interested into getting into a heated argument with you. I did not say I knew what profession you are in and I could care less. You don't comprehend what you read too well. Try reading slower. BTW, there are many judges and lawyers Herbie's age and older still around. Are you new to Knoxville?

Oh, I read just fine, and there's no need for me to read slower, as it's your writing skills that need work. In this post you say "I did not say I knew what profession you are in and I could care less," but in your previous post, you CLEARLY said, and I quote:

Congkiller wrote:

If you did not know what profession I'm in, then how do you justify your above quote?

Additionally, the practices of other attorneys have no relevance in this case, as this case is about Herb Moncier and no one else. I have lived in Knox County since 1980, and worked in this particular industry since 1990, though I don't see any correlation between my time of residency in Knox County and your comments, which are without merit where I'm concerned. And I've yet to figure out what the age group of the judges and attorneys in this area have to do with this particular situation whatsoever. The fact remains that Moncier has acted in what most consider an unprofessional manner for as many years as I've seen him practice. That's my opinion, and I have every right to it.
