As a former Met, this is downright embarrassing. If the Met teams I played on played this poorly, Gil would have us on the field twenty four hours a day working on fundamnetals and defense. There is no excuse for the horrific defense. As for the hitting, the 60's Dodgers offense consisted of a walk to Maury Wills, a stolen base by Wills and two scarifice flies. Granted, they had Koufax, Drysdale and Osteen but they played outstanding defense. You get pitching and defense you have a chance to win. The Mets have neither and they can't score, so the results are inevitable.

the mets are a laughing stock....jerry and omar must go. Omar trades one of the only fundamentally sound players on the team in church for a head case who needed therapy for anxiety and can't get his OPB over .300. Church is a much better hitter than franceour, but its hard to get into a rhythm when your ridiculous manager feels the need to bench you constantly while trying to work double play tatis out of being an overmatched major leaguer. I don't even care that the team is losing this year...I understand it from all the injuries. It is just the ridiculous moves from the gm and the manager consistently make that are demoralizing and are going to causing me to give up my season tickets. I WILL NOT become a season ticket holder again until the Omar and Jerry are gone!!!

good luck with the mets filling that stadium next year with their inferior management and the inferior product that they are placing on the field. With my $50 dollar a seat average i pay for my season tickets, I can't enter into one of the fancy clubs or bars that the mets decided to put around the stadium. You can't try to act like the yankees by making your stadium into place that puts their corporate fans in front of their real fans if you aren't willing to put the same type of product on the field.
Will see the stadium half empty next year with the sub.400 team they are fielding now

It's you, EVERY MLB player shouldn't need to be told to touch a base.. any base.. 5 homers for Wright, no excuse, don't feel sorry for him.. Wake up!! managers and GM's can't field, throw or hit for these losers.... Losing Church is no big deal, him and Francouer are almost the same they play good defense and strike out a ton.

Poor David Wright - he has to suffer through the Wilpons, Minaya, Manuel and Bernazard - keystone cops - ALL. Trading Church - another brilliant move. Is it me, or should the 3B coach have been SCREAMING to him to touch the bag? To show the 3B coach's brilliance, last night he catches a foul ball in play. Who are the idiots here? Not the players.
Minaya's brilliance -
1) Heath Bell for Ben Johnson and Jon Adkins -???
2) Brian Bannister for Ambrioux Burgos -???
As a Mets fan, wouldn't you like to have those back right now??? And, we won't even get into his disastrous Expos trades...
The Mets will turn around when the Wilpons sell, not before. Sad, sad, sad. I was hoping when their millions were "Madoff" with that they would be forced to sell - oh well.
Go LosMets...yeesh.

Kat get that foot out of your mouth. Bannister just pitched last night against Boston. 7.2 innings pitched 1run 7K's 3 hits... Is actually having a pretty good season for KC with a 3.66 ERA and a whip of 1.26.
Someone needs to start watching a little more baseball it seems.

Kat HAS to be Minaya, Wilpon, Bernazard or Manuel - they're all brain dead and probably more concerned with posting on blogs than running a team intelligently.

Get your diaper changed, stop with the name calling and put the pacifier back in your mouth and keep it there until you actually take a look at what's really going on with the team. Meow.

You have GOT to be Jeff Wilpon. Who else, but a Jeff Wilpon would use the term "schmuck." Mazel Tov, moron. It's a waste of my time to attempt to banter with someone still in diapers. Bye, bye baby.

Yeah, and popups shouldn't be dropped either - Castillo, but it happens - just like it happens when a player leaves too early when tagging. It's the coaches too. WAKE UP!!! Mets owners are brain dead, just like Moronaya and Bernretard along with Moronuel. BIG change needs to happen or the Mets will be in this mess for a long, Long, LOng, LONg, LONG time. Regardless, when the idiot 3B coach catches a ball in the air, that's in play, don't say it's ALL the players. Besides, Mets (mis)management screwed up Church's health by rushing him back - EVERYONE knows that. They ruined him and now they have another malcontent in the clubhouse. Brilliance.

Wright is the only quality position player on that team right now. You're not a Mets fan if you're ripping Wright. How long before he's traded for a couple of magic beans by Moronaya? Hey, maybe Moronaya got Santana right (I never thought much of Gomez or Humber, but let's see where Guerra ends up - he's still only 20), but with no farm system and no depth on this team, it all falls on him, but with the inept Wilpons hiring these morons, expect morons of the same.
