Please get Bob Costas out of Beijing and keep him far from the Olympics. His opening ceremony commentary along with Matt Lauer was embarrasing. Both of these guys are ignorant and arrogant assholes. How arrogant do you have to be to make fun of the costumes of other nations!! NBC--please get Costas off the air.

Agreed - if it wasn't for TiVo and a mute button, the olympics would be unwatchable. The two-bit arm chair cultural "insights" are enough to make me gag.

Bob Costas and Matt Lauer: very poor commentary at Olympic Ceremony.
I hope the NBC will choose better his anchor man in the future.

Back in 1996, this scoundrel keeps talking about South Africa's apartheid regime, Australia's persecution of aborigines and what not, does not talk about American past at all!
When other nations won gold medals, they would suddenly shift their attention to other events where they focussed again on Americans. I barely saw flags and national anthems of other countries during the entire event.
Come on, Olympics is NOT a venue to display patriotism. There are so many heros from so many parts of the world and it's so heart warming to see them compete in the spirit of one world, and these chest thumping Bob Costas of the world have to give us lessons in patriotism

Some of the off-hand remarks like "The Olympics surely mean a Great Leap Forward for China." show either crassness or sheer ignorance regarding China's past. Beyond that, some of these complaints you guys are making are ludicrous. You are watching the Olympics in America on an American national network. Guess who's going to be covered the most? Moreover, which country do you think most people in America watching an American broadcaster are going to *want* to watch?

Regardless, seeing that Bush "interview" a few moments ago caused some bile to lurch up into my throat.

Bob Costas just said that Phelps winning eight gold medals was "ridiculous." No, it was a wonderful athlete swimming his best. Spitz won eight gold. WHY can't COSTAS help us CELEBRATE, not say things like ridiculous. He's been rude lately. GET EXCITED FOR US WILL YOU!

I agree with you. I loved the opening ceremony, but the pot-shots about the costumes, "human rights" comments, etc... was uncalled for. That interview he did with the Bushwacker was awful too. 5 min of olympic talk and 15 about human rights BS. This is the olympics, not the nbc news hour. Costas needs a bullet to the head. GD commie bastard...
Most people agree with him. Go vote for O BOMB Ah

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Aquarius

In complete contrast to yesterday, you have your head screwed on firmly today. Yet you won't be boringly sensible or drearily practical, so there's no danger of you having turned into a dry old stick overnight. It's a good day for keeping track of important details and processes, such as confirming a forthcoming appointment or filling in a form and then making a copy of it before sending it off.
