Typical prosecution tactic. They have insufficient real evidence (as opposed to evidence from the unsubstantiated speculations they create out of thin air) to convict.
Now they want to introduce a lesser penalty out of the awareness of looming failure and possible riots and violence. This is to try and coerce jurors into finding Zimmerman guilty.
They should be ashamed of themselves for this BS. No jury would convict of premeditated murder anyone else. This is a very dangerous precident if the foolish judge accepts it. It would then lead to an easy appeal and reversal.
