Seems like they are just looking for sh*t to get non hendrick drivers for. They couldn't even do anything about this...It was a manufacturing defect that didn't give him any kind of advantage.

I would agree, but tey did te sme thing to Mark Martin several years back. They were usng a spring that came out of the box, and measured too short by an eighth of an inch cot him the championship

yep, the appeal man was recruitd by Hendricks from General motors a chevy man. so it appears Mr rich pockets Hendrick is lining the pockets of nascar officials. sounds really fishy. This was no small fine or reductions of points. I have never heard of this huge. way to go for Khane and vanilla hands JJ.

If this is the game NASCAR wants to play from now on fine. I remember so many times Hendrick was caught and NASCAR let it go. What they did with the rear housing last year was illegal but NASCAR struggled to make a ruling so they finally just changed the rule so nobody could do it.
A few years back Jimmie had illegal shocks at Dover and who knows how many other races. NASCAR let the car sit for an hour so the shocks would settle before measuring it for legality. No fine!
Yeah, Chadie did get suspended for some races a couple of years ago.

Please, why must you losers make everything about Hendrick.

For the record I don't agree with the severity of the penalties, I also have an IQ greater than 50 and understand this has nothing to do with Hendrick.

When was Hendrick caught cheating and nascar let it go? Your memory is an extremely unreliable source.

I understand the fine n even the suspensions but I dont understand how or y they strip points when it wasn't involving something to give them an unfair advantage. I just feel points should only be taken if u r cheating to gain an edge. But if its something that will not help them in any way at all I believe its judt a mistake. I get that thede guysr the best st what they do but when ur turning out as many cars as them n every inch of every part has to be spot on an aaccident is bound to happen. I meen these guys r getting hit for a part being 1 1000 of a centimeter to short. The dude that has the job of checking that should b fired just cuz its not nessicary. N hell fire a few more like him n we got a simple way to cut cost

kenseth should have just simply been DQ. the win should go to the first legal car(kahne). then everyone else in the field should move up one spot. the bonus points for the chase would then fall where they belong.

NASCAR would have done that crabman if Jr was second.

I think nascar Is turning into a joke I backed it up for years but it's getting harder to do.. I think guys should be able to tinker and they should have advantages.. they should stop being dictators and get back to out smarting as well as out racing the next guy..... you think there would be A KING If Nascar was this lame back then???

I quit watching when they changed the points system. NASCAR should just build the cars and pick who they want to win. It is a joke. The empty seats show it.

This really sucks for Matt, he had a shot at the championship this year. Even though I'm not a Toyota fan, the penalties were over the top for something so trivial and obviously unintentional. They could have made their point without using a sledgehammer on one of the classiest and honest drivers and owners in the sport.

Rick Hendrick must have some really bad incriminating evidence on the NASCAR's supreme rulers; he owns those fools!

it almost seems like anybody that has a chance to win the cup ( except Hendrick cars ) is being penalized

Well Kenseth showed them and starts on the pole for the second week in a row and I hope to see him in victory lane again.

REALLY? 2.5 GRAMS!!!!! a gram is not that much and a penalty was neccessary but not as harsh as what they gave him

I'm sorry if Nascar's beloved Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon are struggling this year but it is what it is and they have to earn their place like every other driver. The other rods were in spec and one out of 8 what are the odds of finding the light one if all the others were good and you only checked a hand full. This wasn't even the team's fault.

A light rotating assembly is a big advantage!!! The idea of "only 1 rod was light" sounds like complete BS... The weights of the rods & pistons are nearly exactly the same. That's why they build big HP, and turn 9000 rpm...its not mismatched junk yard shit.
Clint Bowyers crew changed their TRD engine because the rods were too close to being light..
The crew chief knows what's under the hood on race day, these are not sealed $5k crate engines.
So the whole idea of " gosh we didn't know" is unrealistic..
I'm not saying Kenseth is a cheater, I am saying some one dropped the ball.
