There is not a week that does not go by, where there is a story of someone being attacked by a dog.
All jokes aside, I think I ate dog about three months ago in Phuket, Thailand. A lady swore she was selling me a piece of "chicken". The meat was on the bone, a straight bone about 12 inches long or so. I knew too well that was not chicken but I was all about trying it. It did taste like chiking. I was sick like a dog within seven hour from trying it. I don't know if that piece made me sick or anything else in the real sin city did it. Interesting experience nonetheless.

I'll bet you said...I'll never do that again. PHUKET.......... |
And a perfect reason for putting PittBull on our menus!! |
Cat, I did read a book about that species of dog. Very strong, of course, but not naturally aggressive unless trained to fight or attack. It's not the breed, per se, it's the mindset training of the owner. Very much would like to see people that train dogs to fight, end up in a facility where they quickly experience "fight or die", since flight would not be an option. Seems fitting. |

Dang!! I am heading to Bejing in 2 weeks, and was so looking forward to a heaping helping of Boston Terrier Wellington, served with a side of Cat Stew. I have had it before, and "it tastes like chicken".

Ruth, I've been following most of your posts and it became quite evident some time ago and evidenced by this post again that although you care for animals, your real problem is China. What exactly is the problem? Are you afraid of China? Or, are you like one fellow I used to work for who hated all those with Asian descent, only manifested it by constantly picking on China. I agree, China is something to be reckoned with. But you can handle your fears by either facing them head on or running from them. Instead of running I would suggest you look into what your inner problem is. And by the way, if you think China brutilizes their livestock (yes, like it or not this is livestock to them) the look into the plants in the U.S. that process meat and poultry. If you haven't then prepared to be shocked when you do. |

Was just responding to..and every week there's someone being attacked by a dog or words to that effect. It's usually a pitbull. I believe they are aggressive by genetics (somewhat) but you are correct, the way they are trained to fight and the way they are abused makes them 'attack dogs'. If I were on a dog cause...that would be it..right here in our own backyards. |
You have? I'll check..and then I'll apologize..if I must. |
Ah..I remember what it was...it was for just a few posts....about 'choice'.
I will not apologize FOR THAT..even if I brought it up or it fit somehow..not going back that far to check. |

Japan is a civilized nation that has the humanity to understand that the grievious harm done to dogs in china is indefensible. I am not afraid of China, but I believe that people who understand that a dog is more than a slab of meat of a piece fur are entitled to know what is going on in china with regard to dogs. I present information which is well known throughout the world. There is a reasonable degree of certainty that products from china will be tainted. Malaysia learned this the hard way when it imported malaria medicine from china and were given colored water, so that hundreds of lives were lost. I understand that china also sent fur labeled as fake "faux" to the United States which was actually real and often dog fur. Most deceitful and disresctful of Americans who would not knowingly wear the fur of an animal they respect. Since India is a delightful alternative to china I also present that as an option. Half the medicine used by the World Health Organization is produced in India. It is safe, effective and inexpensive. Rather than trying to turn the tables as you are doing by implying that I am out to get China, I would suggest that both you and those in China responsible for the carnage look to your own souls and see why you feel is necessary to torture innocent animals, especially dogs in the name of culture, greed and pleasure. |

Would that be Open Pit Bulls? |
I know that was a response to something else...you have been 'edgy'..I have been too..that's me more often than not (I'm working on it). If I said anything offensive...sorry. If it was about 'choice' and I don't mean dog meat choice...will not apologize for anything I said or any connections I made about that...If there is something specific..please tell me..or let's just agree to disagree on THAT subject. |
Perhaps...! PitBulls do not attack as a rule without being trained to (and abused in the process)....Michael Vicks is a perfect example. |

You got no problem here. I agree to disagree with you on the murder of unborn children issue. I will also continue my work outside this forum to ensure the Roe-v-Wade descision is overturned. Good day to you and yours. |
You've made it impossible for me to apologize..since THAT is the issue..not dog served on a skewer. Once someone uses the word 'murder'... I am pro choice..I am not pro abortion (yes, there's a difference)..I will work even harder to make sure Roe v Wade is NOT overturned..and it won't be --even if McBush is elected in November. |

What Ruth and a few others are doing is an attempt at forcing their views and standards on the rest of us.
If they don't approve, it's wrong !

Is this 'difference' you say exists, somewhat like "I will eat a dog but not a cat?" Or is it more like the vegetarian---vegan thing? If McAmnesty gets elected, it will not be because I voted for him. |

Sorry to butt in, but I think I may be able to clear this up for you. I think she means that (drawing an analogy to both issues) she would not choose to eat dog meat,,, would not encourage others to eat dog meat,,, but wants to make sure that eating dog meat remains a legal option for those who find it in their best intrests. Personally I would not seek out dog meat but would eat it if it were offerred for the experience. I also would discourage abortion and go along with overturning RvW because of how it was handled here in America, becoming a huge industry that in many ways degraded us as a society. |
