One third of those would not be cut if it weren't for his own policies. One third are designed to scare the most vulnerable (a nasty, but predictable tactic), and the other third probably should have been done away with years ago.

Obama invented the sequester, he marketed it to Congress, rejoiced when they passed it, and then he signed off on it. He owns it lock, stock and barrel.

He insists that the only way to avert the sequester is for the GOP to "compromise" by accepting the Democrats' plan (????). That plan includes tax hikes on the wealthy, which by the way, he agreed he would not ask for when the fiscal cliff was averted by raising taxes on the wealthy. Now, do I believe that his Facebook buddy should be getting a tax refund? No, but when you make a deal you should keep it, and you should take ownership of your own policies.

Let him stomp his feet and cry a little more because he isn't getting his way. He has refused to cut spending even though his economic panel told him to. Instead he offers up more new entitlement programs like expanding preschool education, and giving federal workers a raise. Maybe someone might mention to him that we are BROKE. He just doesn't get it.

Everyone screams CUT GOV SPENDING!!! and when they do, they cry BOO HOO HOO. Dont cut this or that. So smart guys, what should be cut then? Perhaps you should make a list of all the things that should be cut that won't affect you. But certainly not your food stamps, welfare checks and farm subsidies.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Sequestration was part of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.
Congress as usual couldn't pass a budget and even though agreeing on and passing a budget it their job and not the President's, they looked to Obama for help with their impasse. Congress accuses the president of not taking the lead when they should be blaming themselves for leaving town instead of hammering out legislation.

Anyway it was white house chief of staff Jack Lew who suggested resurrecting this automatic spending cuts idea to Obama to present, when it was clear of congressional dysfunction.

Nobody was holding guns to their heads when the GOP passed the sequestration by a majority, and only the GOP will be pulling the trigger this Friday to protect their wealthy donors.

Even the adored-by-liberals-for-taking- down-Nixon, Bob Woodward, of the Washington Post said Obama was the creatro of sequestration. Face it, he played the sequestration card because he thought Republicans would fold but the Republicans called his bluff. Now he's desperately trying to blame them.

Also, let's also remember we could have elected an experienced businessman who suggested reducing spending through attrition. But, no, everyone wanted the Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman wanna-be with no business experience who leans to a socialist adenda of redistribution of wealth.

More boogeyman scare tactics by Obama. The cuts are under five percent of the yearly budget. That is hardly the end of the world.

Bob Woodward is wrong. Read my post. Obama may have presented the 'solution' to congress to break their self-inflicted deadlock, but it is neither his idea or a new creation, but a rehashed old plan.

This one rests on Dear Leader's shoulders. People are tired of his "never let a good crisis (even manufactured) go to waste" policy of getting his way. He should embrace the sequester just like he sold it - he needs to learn how to take responsibility for his policies. He owns this 100%. His bluff has been called and it's about time.

...and NO cuts for his million dollar per year salary "green energy" manager in Colorado? Shameful, Mr Prezzy--trim the FAT. Even with sequestration, we are spending more money than last year. Stop with the political games at the expense of our kids.

there ya go, your link proves it was not Obama's "idea"

It really doesn't matter anyway because congress enacted the legislation. They did not have to and blaming their work on Obama is like you blaming me for telling you to step in front of that car.

You forgot to take your logic pill.

"Bob Woodward is wrong".

You just "jumped the shark". Now you're telling us that you have more political contacts and inside information than Bob Woodward. You are truly brainwashed.

Some will read and gain understanding. Some will read and and still view the world through their pre-conceived notions. Sad.

I was replying to lynchberger's quote
'Bob Woodward, of the Washington Post said Obama was the creatro of sequestration.'

which is incorrect, as I pointed out several times in this thread, the suggestion came from jack lew and it was an old idea to begin with

Nobody will gain understanding from a propaganda spin machine like townhall. One might as well read an article from Matt Taibbi and Rolling Stone and expect it to be unbiased, though one actually can glean something form Taibbi's articles now and again.
