Five things to watch as the Vikings draft

The club is a solid contender, but the quarterback position still seems iffy. Somebody should be in the wings and learning the system.

I wish sports writers could see what Childress See's in Jackson. All we need is a good backup for the soon to be all star.

This has got to be one of the most waste of time articles I've ever read on this site. Whose bright idea was it to write an article like this that has absolutely no point whatsoever. Might be a good time to hire a new writter.

The 2nd round fdraft pick s/b Jeremy Zuttah from Rutgers. He can replace McKinnie or Birk or Mckinnie, then Birk or anyone else on the line for that matter. Fast strong versatile and smart.

Is this guy trying to be a comedian or reporter? I think its about time to get some worth while articles up on here. At least the Vikings head office and coaching staff are making an EFFORT to improve. Where's the effort on the reporter's part to start getting some articles of substance here. No wonder the midwest gets stereo typed as a bunch of yokels.

I am a Minnesota transplant who still bleads purple. When I got divorced last year I litteraly fought in court to have Vikings games as a part of my custody arrangements with my son. Please don't let them move, please get them a new stadium, it is the only remnant of my childhood that it seems I will be able to share with my son. He's not even two, yet, and he carries a footbal with him everywhere, and knows that the Viking logo is Daddy's favorite thin in the whole world other than him.

Let's hope the Jared Allen trade isn't another Herschel Walker fiasco! We gave up about as much to get him and look what it got us!

Look up the history of the Walker trade. After all the conditionals, we gave up 7 or 8 picks and FIVE players, mostly defensive. No where near the Jared Allen deal. How do you figure we gave up as much??

The Allen trade came for two third round picks and some cash. How you say?? Well, the Vikes would have wasted #17 on a stiff defensive end, probably the third or 4th rated college kid who would have nowhere near the juice Allen brings. So fine, take out two third rounders and pretend we got Allen with #17. It's a wash as long as he gets 6 sacks, which is one more than any stiff on the Vikings D-line could generate last year. No where close to the Herschel deal.

LA Lakers, Texas Stars,......Now tell me why the old New York Giants baseball bought the land southwest corner of MN 100 and US 12 but never came here ? They leaped to SF, Rams went from Cleveland to LA ( then to St Louis ), Cards went from Chicago to St Louis to some snakepit....This goes on and on....Tell me why 3M mov ed from Two Harbors to St Paul then to China ? Tell me why American Hoist, Swifts Hilex, etc etc. The answer is not building new airports ( nutswest ) or playgrounds ( REMEMBER OLD MET STADUIM WAS BUILT FOR A TEAM TO COME HERE ), but it because of greed by ownership. Way back in Business 101, I was taught never name a buiness with a city or state name or even family name that makes it harder to sell or move. Then again we have lots of stuff named after city or place such as Sandwich, Boloney ( Bologna ), Braunschweig, etc but few know that. BTW hamburger is not named after the city. oh well who cares Vikes in LA sounds as good as LA Lakers.
Quite true. People move, business move, teams move. So does air, water, sound...

And yer right. Vikes in LA does sound as good as LA Lakers. Sounds about as good as the smell of my ass on a steamy summer afternoon. Trust me, you don't want to move there.

Not nearly as bad as Herschel but this still was not a good trade. Vikings were not one player away from the Super Bowl.

If you think about it, this draft was already a success because we already got a proven player in Allen. He pretty young and its better than us drafting a DE with our sucky luck.

Where is Bud Grant when you need him. The Vikes have sucked hind t!t since Grant left day to day operations. Allen is a great talent, but he has substance abuse issues. I do not forsee Jackson as a the future QB of the Vikes
