Cricket stadium, that sure meets the needs of Broward's taxpayers.

What do you expect from commissioners who think they're entitled to spend as much of taxpayers money that they can and would in all probability be fired for incompetence if they were to work in the private sector.

This was one former mayor's pipe dream. Let's put a multi million dollar stadium right in the middle of prime real estate aka next to the swap shop and the ghetto. All so he can go watch a sport which has no chance to draw in anywhere near the amount of money it costs to run and maintain. Typical idiocy from the county commission and ole eggletion the moron. We are in a serious budget crunch and he has the audacity to spend millions on a worthless cricket stadium. Go back to cutting hair you crook and keep your greedy hand out of my pocket before I cut it off :)Seems you have traded up from trying to buy an alligator skin briefcase for your county issued laptop to fleecing the county for millions on yet another worthless sports park!! Send a message to these thieving scumbags come election time and vote them out!!

They are complaining about prices because they are used to getting stuff free. They do these event then pocket big time profit since they are used to getting the use of public facilities free or at little cost. You can bet your butt the County is going cook the books on this place so they don't show a loss. You can bet they will pull workers from other County parks to work there so it won't show how much more it costs to operate than they are telling the public. All are a bunch of CROOKS!

Bob Harbin is a liar. Take a good look at that park and ask yourself where all that money has gone.

Its good to know that when I do have some spare time from work, and work I do to support Government's insatiable appetite, that I can take in a relaxing game of crickett.
Now that's money well spent.
By the way, I didn't even know that this place existed. Shows how a well oiled Government machine runs.
I predict sweeping changes in the next election.

Hey Harbin, you don't build a customer base with taxpayer dollars.
You build because of a customer base. You thrive because of a loyal customer base.
The former did not happen and the latter won't happen.
Thanks for being good stewards of our money.

Cricket stadium? Hey WHAT ABOUT US?

American Golf Course should be an obvious location for a park and it just sits there. It is basically a turnkey park.
Are the cricket players more politically organized? Is that how they got their park?

tell you how up to date ia and also ashamed that i knew nothing about this park but from not only reading the article in the paper and from the various comments it appears this park is DEAD HORSE JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU I NEVER HEARD OF THE PARK AND IF I HAVE NOT HOW MANY OTHER BROWARD FAMALIES ALSO HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS PARK WHICH MEANS I MOST LIKELY WILL NEVER GO TO SEE IT, AND WHY WOULD YOU HOLD A CONCERT OUTDOORS IN THIS TYPE OF WEATHER WE EXPERIENCE IB S, FLA. IF I DO GO TO A CONCERT I WANT TO BE COMFORTABLE NOT AWEATING AND OR GETTING DRENCED FROM A QUICK RAIN STORM. SO EXACTLU HOW DID OUR TAXPAYER MONEY GET EARMARKED FOR THIS SO CALLED PARK I NEVER HEARD OF. GREAT PLANNING ON THE COUNTRIES PART INFORMING BROWARD RESIDENTS OF THIS SO CALLED NEW PARK. CAN NOT OUR MONEY BE FUNNELED IN A MORE CONSTRUCTIVE WAY TO MAYBE HELP SOME CITIZENS WHO ARE STRUGGLING TO GET ALONG IN THESE DIFFICULT ECONOMIC TIMES WE ALL ARE GOING THROOUGH.MAKES BETTER SENSE AND BETTER PR FOR BROWARD RESIDENTS. INSTEAD OF ALL THR NEGATIVE PR ALL OF THE COMMISSIONERS PUT US THROUGH ALL THE TIME. PLEASE US YOUR HEADS INSTEAD OF WHAT YOU SIT ON.

All one has to do is see where the park is and that will answer the question of why no one uses it. Sunrise and 441 is not what is known as a "low crime area"
While you are watching the game, others are watching your car.

This should have been the site for the new Marlin's stadium. What a waste - cricket? who cares? Australian rules football? who cares?(who knew there was such a thing?)

Can't comment on the stadium, though it looks nice on the outside... However, the water park is FANTASTIC and the playground is the only one around that is covered so little ones don't get burned on slides during the heat of the day. I was a little concerned about the area too, but I have been there at least 50 times in the last two months and it has been a WONDERFUL family atmosphere every time. So glad this park is close to me !!!

What they need to do is build about 3 more. They should also build at least 6 $20million parks for dogs. Yeah, that's what we need, some parks for dogs. Then maybe a couple for cats and at least 4 parks for gays with special stalls for multiple occupants in the bathrooms. And lots of brick crosswalks. Yeah, that's it! Brick crosswalks!! Cut our police and fire protection because we really need these things!!

What I heard in the complaints was that this stadium was more expensive to rent than Dolphin Stadium. By thousands of dollars. The county may get by this year with those rates, cause people committed to events, but see if next year if they come back. That's the problem. If events lose money cause of the charges, than no one wins.
