what about Corey Dillon? He said he wasn't officially retired and would be great in a two back system. What do you think?

its time for james mungro to step back in the lineup. He saved the colts before when they lost the starters due to injury, So let him get his real shot at playing, I remembering him doing well, when he did play!

If DeDE, Kenton and Luke were good enough to be hired onto the team, they should have a chance. Why did they get hired? The bench doesn't need to be kept warm. Tony and Bill might actually be surprised at what they have inhouse. Save some money!

I'd give DeDe a shot. One things for sure, stay with the two back system, it works like all get out.

Barlow isn't bad. He's pretty good when you play with him in Madden, so that's all that matters....

Seriously, he woudn't be a bad pickup. I like the idea of Corey Dillon, however.

They're all tackling dummies at camp and scout teamers during the season.

He left New England because of playing time and a two back system. No chance that works here.

Or well...no. He's like 96 lbs and pretends to be a fullback. I'd rather see Kelcko than Mungro

Great choice ... Barlow is a downhill hill runer with break away speed... 6'1"
240 pound "Beast" !
Thats what I'm talking about ... have seen tape from previous game where he ran over threee D.B.'s when he was with San Fran and then ran 70 yards for T.D.

Ummm the 3 stiffs that are on the bench will stay there because they can't be counted on for prolonged playing time...

Barlow may get a low offer, but he is at the end of a very mediocre career...

Corey Dillon is a cancer and a malcontent who wanted out of Cincinnati, than he wanted out of New England...

I think the obvious solution is with the colts 10 draft picks, they spend one on a big back. Brandon Jackson of Nebraska, Michael Bush of Louisville, Tony Hunt of Penn State, Danny Ware of Georgia or Deshawn Wynn of Florida would all be viable options late in the draft.

Being a 49ers fan in Indy, I would be excited to see Barlow play for the Colts. Yes, he is at the end of his career, but that works out for the Colts. He has experience and knowledge that helps J.A. And he is a good role model for younger players. He understands where he came from. While at SF, during the offseason he would go to the state prison and talk to the inmates about changing their behavior. He would also take some younger players with him so they would see that part of life and have a better respect of what they have.

The Colts should give James Mungro a chance to prove that he can be a everyday back.He has proved it in the past prior to his injury. They should saved money and give Mungro a chance.

You my friend are a obvious jackass. Cory Dillion was not a cancer in New England, he was a very big part of there offense before last year and knows Lawerence Maroney is now the man in New England and his carries would have been very minimal this year. He thinks has some game left and wants to land on a team that needs more then a guy carrying 8 times a game. Know what your talking about before posting something ignorant.

Speaking of backs, watch out for Baltimore, now they have a RB (Maghee) to compliment the best D in the league. Last year, they were 1 yd away from probably beating the Colts when Steve Mcnair threw a horrible pick on the 1 yd line. With Willis now in the backfield, they do not need Mcnair to throw in those situations.

I hear Ricky Williams has petitioned the NFL for reinstatement...on the NFL Network, RW said he finally is content and stress-free. He's a yoga instructor now and shaved off those dreadlocks.

(this was tongue-in-cheek, by the way)

Where you one of the fortunate ones to get to meet Barlow during his state prison tour. I think Barlow would be a good addition to the team - but come on.

Barlow has been a joke since entering the league and is not of any value. Did you not watch him play for the Jets last year in a 2 back system, he was horrible. Why do you think the 49ers said good bye to him, they knew he wasnt even a decent backup for Frank Gore.

Colts fans should not be worrying about a second back, they should be worried about a defense already low on key players that just let go of some of the very few key players they had left (Harper and June). Your D played lights out vs Baltimore, KC, and Chicago, how I still dont know, but they did but that was also against 3 bad offenses, Your D will need to pull another miracle this year because besides Freeney and Sanders, there is no other player on that D worth a s h i t.

Are you serious - Addai is the every down back. I think that you better take a look at the stats. In 2005, Mungro had 7 carries for 15 yds; 2004 he had 5 carries for 19 yds; 2003 he had 24 carries for 60 yds; and 2002 he had 97 carries for 336 yds; I think compared to this, Barlow looks like a Hall of Famer. I think people need to take a look at the stats before they start standing behind someone that is mediocre at best and is coming off a serious knee injury.

All this Mungro talk...he is not even on our team anymore, so obviously that is not going to work. He is a free agent if you dont already know that.

The Colts cant spend a draft pick on a backup running back either. Picks are too valuable to go in drafting a backup. No way. They just need to find a decent veteran backup. I think Barlow would be fine if we can get him for next to nothing. We just need someone to take the load off of Addai every 4th series. Addai is going to be a stud next year....first round fantasy draft pick.
