Mitoma was the one convicted! Tax Evasion, filing false tax returns, and money laundering I think, not to mention all the liens and lawsuits filed against him.

Mitoma is a joke and believes his own press release's. No way a convicted scofflow like Mike should be elected. More importantly, Mike Mitoma screwed every local business that produced material for his last campaign, and had to resort to going to San Diego for his last campaign. End result? Mike screwed him too and the printer had to file suit in small claims to get paid. Case Number 717322 - Remer vs. Mitoma - San Diego County, look it up!

Total judgements against Mike Mitoma:$3,993.99, not to mention the liens against his property; one for 9,154.33, another one for 6,431.11: and still another one for $5,937.75!!

Mike Mitoma is Laura Richardson in DRAG!!

Why waste taxpayers' money for the recall election when there are only few months left before the general election? If Dear is really that incompetent, we can elect a new Mayor in March.

Because it's State law...over 12,000 people signed petitions to recall him well over a year ago (more like 18 mos since it started and was submitted to the City); after lengthy legal battles the courts finally agreed that the sufficient number of registered voters (I believe somewhere around 8,500) had signed the petitions and the recall must go on. That decision was made in the May and then there's a timetable by law that follows for the Council to set the election and hold it. The Council cannot decide not to hold the election and the residents who signed the petition so long ago are still entitled to have the recall vote regardless of how close it now is to the end of his term.

I am a long time resident of Carson and it seems everytime I turn around Mitoma is running for mayor, DeWitt is unhappy with someone and someone wants to recall our mayor or they are bing convicted of some crime. Maybe we can ask the fictional superhero Hancock to help us!

The recall signature gatherers were well paid, unscrupulous, certified liars.(1/3 of their signatures were disqualified.) Some of the lies were so outrageous that if even one of them were true the man would be in prison for life. Of course, there has been no crime, not even a small crime; so, they have to make things up.
Mayor Dear is the first honest mayor we have had in 18 years!

It is about power and prejudice and sour grapes. He is the mayor and they are not!
Don’t think for a minute that Mitoma wouldn’t want to run again. He has wanted to be mayor again since before he turned gray. Nobody wants him because of his questionable legal and ethical problems, but the poor guy is so bitter and he just won’t give it up. Too bad there aren’t videos of council meetings when he was mayor. Talk about a circus.

As for Gil Smith, he can talk well about the past because that’s where he lives. He has no vision for the future. He cannot get out of the swamps and farmlands of the 1960’s. We aren’t there anymore. Carson has been moving forward without him and that’s what the people want.

We have an honest, popular Mayor who has been doing a great job. Even though some might disagree with him sometimes that is not reason for a recall.

Vote NO on the recall.

VERA SHOULD STAYOUT OF IT. SHE IS JUST MAD BECAUSE THE CITY DID NOT WANT HER ANYMORE. SHE SHOULD LEAVE JIM ALONE AND LET HIS TERM RUN OUT. THEN THE CITY COULD REPLACE HIM WHEN HIS TERM IS OVER. VERA IS A BUSY BODY AND A DRAMA QUEEN.

The city has not had a decent Mayor since Corruption Kay was in there. What is the city going to do. They keep trying to get a professional sports team in the city and build a stadium, but keep getting beat down. Does L.A. even have a professional football team ? Are they going to get one. Is Carson a good venue for a professional football team.

Stop looking back and reliving past mistakes. Don't even think about bringing back the losers from years gone by. Carson needs someone with a fresh outlook and isn't part of the current Carson hierarchy. Dear God, whatever you folks do, don't bring Mitoma back. He's the biggest embarrassment to the Japanese American community in the South Bay that we've had in a while. Choose wisely people.

So far Vera Robles Dewitt has cost this city in legal fees over $1,000,000. Now we are paying an additional $200,000 for a recall that Vera and her friends Kay Calas, Mike Mitoma and Gil Smith helped finance. The petition gatherers were paid thugs. The bottom line is thtq the current council majority want all the power so they can fleece the developers
just like the mayor and council members before them. Mike (Tax Fraud) Mitomo was getting money under the table from a former developer of the land fill in Carson which, thanks to our last city council majority is being developed, with no broken laws. Soon Carson will be receiving millions of dollars in sales tax dollars because of that development.
With this new majority no progress has taken place.
