The fault is not in our stars but in ourselves.

I have no respect for people who have elevated college sports into this leviathan ogre it has become.

As a student, it was enough for me to go and watch the Gophers on a warm autumn afternoon under a sunny sky and enjoy the game for the game. I cheered for my team. I slumped when they lost. But their winning was not the end all. It was enough to enjoy the competition. To watch the "kids" play.

If a program was turning out well-adjusted men who would be of benefit to their communities in their future lives, that is all I really asked of a program.

Building programs that require quarter-billion dollar stadiums, million-dollar coaches, and institutions far removed from anything conceivable that a university should represent is detestable.

Leave that crap to professional sports.

I congratulate the kids who played today for their efforts. I think we all should.

As for the coach, fire him if he's not building better people. Otherwise, leave him the hell alone.

If you dislike the coach and have all the answers, have the balls to at least leave your name and not hide like some little girl behind your computer.

Fire the Huckster!!! Fire the head rodent Maturi!!!

How many more young men must the Huckster destroy before we realize the follies of this big mouthed blow hard ways! Erid Decker could have been a top ten pick!! The huckster talked him into keep playing and now he may be an invalid!

Minnesota football is a sports joke! Don't expect another win out of them this year. The new stadium has given them no advantage this year, probably never will. Just more good money thrown into a corrupt program.

This is a great day for me. This should seal the deal, allowing the Gophers to get a new head coach.

Never happen, the program is so far down, who would want the job? Every year the same thing, a bowl game, big deal. Always a bowl nobody ever heard of. Whoopee!

"I'm talking about winning at a championship level," Brewster said. "There is no question that we are going to get it done. We are a 5-4 football team with a great opportunity to go to a bowl game this year. I think there is tremendous progress in this program, both on and off the field. I couldn't be stronger in my belief that we are going to have a chance to compete for a Big Ten championship and do it soon."
