My Opinion_El Paso_TX wrote: <quoted text> Hi Ali. So, what have you been up to as of late? What rider have you picked out for this TDF? Cheers Lance Armstrong ... unfortunate combination of big gamble and low odds (4:1) Michael Rogers ... unfortunate combination of dubious abilities, but big odds (20:1 ?) Let's face it, there's no good gamble when money's involved. Having said that, my bird has Sastre, each way, 14:1 ? Nice to speak to you guys again. I feel like I'm suddenly in the pleasant atmosphere of the botanical gardens in Aberdeen, as opposed to some unpleasant place in the Afghanistan (other forums)

Remember that Armstrong is riding without his usual.... OK, I'd rather not say it. Either communicate your thoughts out completely here Pieter or drop the discussion completely. I'm not being mean to you, but I have no tolerance for broken up and or selective communication!!! Pieter, it seems to me that you just plainly hate Lance Armstrong and are looking at any excuse to blame him with. You're beginning to sound like Zippy and Will. Cheers Mate

Alberto Contador is here to race and he's not leaving the TDF folks.
Lance Amstrong is here to race and he's not leaving the TDF folks. 7 TDF championships have proven that!

Now that I've seen the results and overall standings, I can understand why you're getting worried Pieter.
I can also see that you have no idea of who Lance Armstrong really is. He has an intensity inside of himself that has no equal.
He is either the only one or one of the very few cyclists who trained throughout the off season along with riding on Christmas every year during his professional career. And he kept riding throughout his three years of retirement.
But I dare say that you may be missing some other interesting information that's are right in front of you.
Cheers

Cheers Mate Well Harry, it's hard for me to believe that any human being can do what Armstrong has done without chemical support. But in this TdF he will be checked and double checked. So I believe he's riding clean this time. And if he should win, I will have to admit to myself that he really is a good cycler. As for hating him, no, I don't think I hate him. Let's rather say there are 179 other riders on this Tour whom I like better than Armstrong. Tell you what, I will bet you a Brooks saddle that Armstrong won't even make it to the end!! How's that for sportsmanship?

They make beautiful cards out of it. If you will let me know your date of birth, I will send you one of those cards. Cheers

You're not the only person who has thought this about Lance Armstrong Pieter. Let's face it, human nature has cuased this because of: 1. Lance beat Jan Ulrich and everybody knows that Jan Ullrich doped! So, Lance must have doped in order to beat Jan! But, did Jan Ulrich dope when it really hasn't been proven? What did Operation Puerto really prove? 2. Lances 1999 urin samples were tested and found to have EPO. 3. But, than Greg Lemond beat Laurent Fignon and we all know that it was proven that Laurent Fignon had cheated by doping. Yet, just about every cycling fan out there trully believe that Greg Lemond never cheated or doped! SpeedyPete wrote: <quoted text>As for hating him, no, I don't think I hate him. So, what's so different about Lance Armstrong from Floyd Landis? SpeedyPete wrote: <quoted text> Tell you what, I will bet you a Brooks saddle that Armstrong won't even make it to the end!! How's that for sportsmanship? Lance Armstrong will make it to the end of the TDF as I do know this cyclist very well from all of his previous TDFs. Keep your Brooks saddle as I think I know where it came from along with the fact that I already have great saddles on all of my bikes that suit me well. Cheers

No Harry, I do not hate Armstrong. I don't like him but I do not hate him. And if he can win again without getting caught, good luck to him. He's the one who's got to live with it, not me.

And in your own words you have shown that you already believe that Lance Armstrong dopes during cycling. Cheers

In that case Floyd Landis is also guilty!
And Greg Lemond also doped in cycling.
Yup, that's the safe bet in thinking. Gad that any of us take a stand outside of the box of stereotypical thinking and people.
So, it's down to Ali, Gus, ZENman, and myself who think other wise.

I'm afraid that you've become delirious with your dislike of Lance Armstrong and now it's turning into dishonesty as well. I see that you're suffering the same flu that Will, Raymond, and Chris have. At least it helps understanding why you're so fond of Chris and so supportive of his behavior. Ever since you stated your dislike for Lance Armstrong long ago, I've been waiting to see if there was another side to you. Cheers

Le Tour de France web site has Lance Armstrong in second place in the 'Overall Standings!"
And I still see that you still have missed some interesting things from this race!

I see that Armstrong almost won stage 5 but he finished in the 27th place in stage 6. I'm waiting for the officials to announce the overall standings because what is showing now, is only up to stage 5.
