Smith carries too much potential to expose to the practice squad and getting plucked away. Remember Derrick Anderson? It's obvious nobody in the NFL cares about Drew Olsen.

Olson should have been kept on practice squad due to McNair's age, Boller's pending departure, Smith's inconsistency.
