"al was always right on the salary cap" is right! people say, oh, al davis left us with a big mess, and we are under the salary cap and all that stuff. which is true!(lol), but where is al supposed to take the mess? in his grave?(rest in peace), i gotta say, whatever mess al davis got himself into, he knew how to get out of it. if he lost a draft spot or paid too much for a player? no problem! just trade down. under the salary cap? no problem! just trade down. al davis was a smart business man! i mean, who else can get his team in out and back in to his hometown? al davis did not get rid of all his football players just to get the salary cap right. was al davis always worried about his team's finances? NO! he knew what to do and how to get out of it, ALWAYS!

Palmer had 4018yds and is the best qb we have had since Gannon. I was against Palmer at the beginning of preseason. But he proved to be the right qb for us. Actually qb was one of the few positions that we don't need a changr at.

RAIDERS 2013!!!
I still think Al Davis overvalued players that underperformed. These players have a job to do and they didn't do it. Their job is to win. It doesn't matter what the players can do, it's what they actually do. It's like I tell guys at work...I don't care what you can do, I care about what you actually do

Agreed, Palmer is not superman, but he is the best and most dedicated Qb we have had in about 10 years now.

I will agree with you here. Stanford Routt always struck me as an odd choice for Al. I never liked Routt. Al really liked Tommy Kelly too, who i hated after 2007 or so, but then he really started to pick it up and i was proved wrong.
