He does not have to deal with things that drive others mad like, wondering if your home will go into forclosure, wondering if you will have lights next month, wondering if you will be able to buy groceries next month.
If his material things don't make him happy, its time to change your life. He can retire, do whatever it is that brings him joy and he will still never suffer financially.
You will only live life unhappily for as long as you allow it.
Yes he doesn't have the daily struggles that a lot of us do with finacial situations; lost jobs, cut in pay, etc. But material things and money do not make one happy. Money is needed for survival but it isn't the magic potion for happiness.

I like the last thing you said and I think that's what's happening to him now, he's living his life unhappily, like a lot of us do, and he will continue to have that mindset until he stops allowing it to be his life.

This is going to sound shallow, but I'll be honest. Material things make me happy. Why do you think women love to shop? I am a girl, I get oodles of enjoyment from buying furniture and decorating, and getting new shoes or a new top and candles, and throw pillows.

By no means do I think that is all life is about, but to look at a guy who has a race track on his property, he has 3 hot red sports cars, he used to have a night club in his basement, he owns absolute extravgant things, a club included, and to look at him and say "Material things don't make someone happy" Why does he own such things? Because they make him miserable? When people hit the lotto for 35 million, do they look upset? Why do these drivers have 75,000 sq ft homes and 18 bathrooms with indoor pools, cause that is horrid right? No. They love it, that's why they have it.

He sure looks happy when hes messing around with his buddies on his cart track. I think material things are the only thing in his life that make him happy. That's just my opinion.

Don't believe it's all about the FUN for Jr? Just read this article from USA Today.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/motor/nascar/2...

Read the last quote by Eury Jr.

And now, they're blaming the media and the FANS for Jr's on track problems? Give me a freakin' break. The fans and the media aren't screwing up on pit road, they're not on the pit crew that's putting Jr out in 33rd place after he comes in to the pits in 20th. The fans and media aren't making the mistakes. Stop playing the blame game Jr, and start looking in the mirror.

Since when Has Jr ever played the blame game? If I'm not mistaken, he's always blamed himself, not others. JMHO.

Darcie,
You mention material things. They do not bring happiness. What is the point to have things, if you do not enjoy?
Dale said during the interview with his mom, it took you awhile to get to the point where you woke up and you were happy.
I was thinking, there is something to this. This is an inward struggle.
You can buy the Galapogos Island, look at all the variety of life on this island and still not be happy.
It is inward.
I was responding to the comments that Jr can't enjoy what he has, and my point is, he certainly SEEMS to be enjoying what he has. Saying you need to enjoy what one has does imply material things. He doesn't already have a wife and child because it doesn't seem he wants that, so there's nothing to enjoy there. He apparently has more women for sex than he knows what to do with, so he's probably enjoying that. He has family and friends, so he must be enjoying them. So what else does it leave for him to wait to enjoy? He's already got more things than the average 35 year old, so what's the problem?

Yes.

We have to get Jr. having more fun.

Maybe if he is having fun, he is more motivated.
If fun is in place, the racing will fall into place.
I am unsure if this makes sense.
Dale and Tony Jr. say fun, but maybe they are thinking of a different word.

Ah, the blame game has been around for centuries and will continue.
He must resolve for himself. If you are floundering in one aspect of life, it simply spills over into all aspects of life.
I think many things are wrong in his world and he is unsure how to cope and resolve these issues.

I understand.

I am referring to finding happiness in these things.

Maybe it is a facade.

Something has happened.
Only Dale knows.

And you need to dig up Junior's quotes in response to Eury's. He pretty much refuted all of what Tony Jr said. Junior isn't Kyle Busch. Junior will be the first to man up and take responsibility for his actions, this season and beyond. Junior doesn't play the blame game, it's not his style. The fans and the media aren't making mistakes, no, but some of them sure as hell put some freakin unrealistic expectations for him. So, no THEY aren't blaming the media. Eury Jr IS.

You ever heard the song "mo money mo problems"? With all the money he has and all the things he has come many dishonest people who all want a pieco of the action. I think he doesn't know who to trust and there's probably a voice in the back of his head at all times telling him that this person shouldn't be trusted, and that person seems fake, etc.... Who says he doesn't want a wife and kids? I've heard him say in interviews that he would like to be settled down and have kids. I'm sure it's hard to find a good woman with all that money and fame. The women he gets are there for all the wrong reasons. One day he will find the one and he will find his happiness. I've heard it stated before that if a racer is happy and satisfied in his personal life, then that transfers to performance on the track. In other words, a happy driver is a good driver. I guess a driver who has everything together and in order can concentrate and focus completely on the race. Maybe he needs to get things settled personally before he will find the success he truly desires and deserves. Just my opinion.

Come on Lisa. I realize there is no love loss between the two of you but getting nasty for posting her opinion of a rap artist is bullchit.
Why can't she post an honest opinion? You do and don't like it when others refute what you say with harshness.
She's not being racist she is being honest. What did she state that was untrue?

Jr never makes excuses for his performance. He always takes responsiblity, Maybe you should stop obsessing over someone you claim to hate and get a life.
