I do very much appreciate your posts as well as my good friend Andy... Where have you been? I thought I was just getting to know you. I would love to get all your input, too. We're all really just hanging out waiting for preseaon/season too start, so that we can make all our 'witty' comments to the world.(laugh here) Why do you call yourself "Skidrow"?

He is no Capone, therefore he has never served time. You can speculate forever with no proof of anything and that is all you have done. you are clueless on this. all I was pointing out was that he also had lots of speculation surrounding him and that nothing ever happened to him for it either. only thing they got him for was not paying his taxes. I pointed this out cause it was just a quick way to show that mass speculation and not getting busted for what the speculation is for. that is all. I wasn't comparing the 2 people but the situation. I made this point clear to you I though already. Sorry that you missed the point

Historian, I also noticed that you dropped the blackmail argument you tried to bring up. that stopped pretty fast didn't it. And you brought up no act in the situation either other then he plead guilty. but there was speculation in there as well. You too don't know the extend of his guilt in that situation do you? Did you know that Edwards wire taped 7 calls between he and Mr. D to show his guilt incase something happened? Did you also know that Mr. D had an employee extorting money from clients and laundering cash as well? not saying he did that with Mr. D's consent, just that the criminal activity was there. I am admiting I am confused in the situation. I asked for enlightenment on the situation so that I might beter know, all I got was something I already knew happened, he plead guilty to a felony. I brought up a few other areas that confused me as well but I am still in the dark on those. Historian, I honestly don't want to argue on the subject. I tried not too, but it turned to me having to defend things. I wasn't saying he was like capone. just the speculation factor is all. Thats all I have is speculation as youpointed out, THAT IS WHAT IM TRYING TO CLEAR UP. I thought I made that clear....

You may believe what you want from your speculation. But that is all it is. As for me I will believe facts and not speculation. When someone can show proof of speculation of what I have heard concerning DeBartolo, Ruth, Magic and Jordan....I will believe it then.

The NFL Hall of Fame game is day after tomorrow and they do not know who's playing yet. Anybody but me find that a little strange? There's got to be more updated info than that. About time Emmitt Thomas joined the Hall.

About time Emmitt Thomas joined the Hall. I'll say that is strange. It's as strange as a Miami Dolphin victory. It's as strange as Randy Moss stepping up in the playoffs. It's as strange as the Pats denying videotape cheating to the commissioner. It's as strange as Brett Favre making a firm decision. It's as strange as some of those who "can" make an appearance on our forum from time to time. What isn't strange is your ability to see things that others miss. What isn't strange is we can see a new season about to begin. Where all teams will start off at 0 wins and 0 defeats. All hoping to go 1-0. All hoping for a good start. All hoping to reach the prize at the end of the rainbow......

There always comes a time when you hope to go 1 - 0. I myself wake up every morning hoping for a day like that. Later, finding myself in sudden death overtime once again. I'm really looking forward to the Topic of our forum taking on a whole new meaning. Brady could have the best season of his career. I can only imagine what we'll hear from some of the "pop ins" and "pop outs", the haters and the lovers, the sensible and the senseless. Ah, but I saved the best for last..........more stats!

I could give you a stat to begin the year. Of the first 41 teams that lost or choked in the Super Bowl, only 2 came back to win the Super Bowl the following year. As for the 42nd team....The Pats who fall to the choke side of this discussion....We shall see what happens.

Or next year you may have to change the 'beginning stat of the year' to say,".....only 3 came back to win the Super Bowl the following year."

Let me see if I have my facts straight on the latest of Brett Favre. Monday: Brett Favre arrives in Green Bay but not to the glory he thought was at hand.... Tuesday: Brett Favre shows up at practice field but no one is there.... He jumped the fence and made his way to the locker rooms. But the doors are locked! He knocks on doors but no one responds. Why is it empty? He puts his ear to the door and hears a film projector in usage. "Hey Coach, open the door and let me in. Do your job and coach me. I need to study film just like the rest of the guys"!!! No response...."Aaron, what are you afraid of? A little competition? Open this door so we can get started"....... No response again...."Come on guys, this is Brett Favre! I've left my blood and body parts on this field for you!!!! I've lived and died with you many times! Don't disrespect me! Not after all we've been through together. We have a Super Bowl to win. Open the door"!!!! No response..... Finally a voice from inside answers. "Get the hell out of here! We don't need or want you around anymore! Can't you get that through your thick skull"? A tear drop rolls down the cheek of Favre. Reality has set in.... Wednesday: Brett Favre flies back to Mississippi. Does that pretty much sum up the past few days? Or did I forget something?

Young man, every story has 2 sides. You are going to have to change your name to just 'foot/ball' and hope that no one kicks you. Don't make me come out west and seek you out!(lighten up, laugh, love the game, but love the players more). Historians are starting to talk about your legacy........

Favre said his ordeal was "like a marriage that ended." Why did I start thinking about Andy and Football Historian? Hope you 2 aren't giving each other the silent treatment. Who is going to take Pennington in out of the cold?

Who is going to take Pennington in out of the cold? "A Marriage that ended" is also something Mark Murphy said. Ted Thompson said "We pray that he {Brett Favre} will do well". Bruce Allen of Tampa Bay said "There was no negotiations. There was never any substanive talk about what they would take to trade him. From the beginning I think it was clear that it was a bad situation in Green Bay". Brett Favre on the Packers "I wish them {Green Bay} well". I would say the above are white lies at the best. Tampa Bay is now denying they ever tried to trade for Brett. Come on, who are you kidding? Ted Thompson is "praying" for Brett Favre success. LMAO. From beginning to end on the Brett Favre soap opera Ted has been far from honest. Brett wishes G.B. well? I don't think so. As a competitor he will want them to do worse so he can feel he had much to do the success of his old team. I'm glad this soap opera is winding to an end. This was the ugliest sports divorce I can recall. Only the Shaq/Lakers divorce comes close. But this Brett soap opera is still not over. There will be more to come....

Yeah, I saw the ESPN run today, too. Management says it was a 'communications' problem. Anyway, it's a done deal. Let's play football. (Manny's divorce from Boston isn't over yet either). Off topic, I know.

Preseason is here. Games have been played. The Pats just lost a few days ago. Brett favre is in a new uniform. The Jets? A team I don't think was his first choice. I saw a poll his popularity dropped quite a bit from Packer fans. You're right TMD. Players play on till the uniform is ripped off them or they begin to embarrass themselves. Sticking around past their welcome..... From Favre to Ruth to Mays to Jordan to Magic to E.Smith to Franco to on and on and on and on..... The carousel never stops spinning. Bonds just proclaimed he hasn't retired and wants to return. Clemens seems like a forced retirement as he is so radioactive no one wants him near their clubhouse. But he has never proclaimed his retirement.... Most of the time these things are ugly but not to the extent of the Favre/Packer divorce. It is sad to see a legend like Johnny Unitas play on when there is nothing left. Us fans love these guys. We don't want to see them performing as a shell of what they once were.
