All the same for me - it would be nice to see Massa and Alonso as team mates, a lot of psychologial drama I would enjoy to the fullest.
And if Kimi is paid out then ouch.... he must be a real treath since it would be 20 million euros cheaper to buy Massa out - that alone tells alot.
Ain't it funny how nobody wants Kimi as their team mate? A guy who shuts up, puts his head down and does not care about all the shit they throw at him.
But hey, if that's what Alonso wants, that's what Alonso gets and I have absolutely no problem with that - Kimi wins anyway no matter how you look at it.
28 million euros for 2010 without doing anything - now that's an accomplishment in itself.
Still... just how stupid are they at Ferrari? These 'reliable' sources tell that Alonso signed a contract with Ferrari last summer. Why on earth did Ferrari sign a contract with Kimi then????
Please explain that one to me, I don't understand it.
I must poke my nose in here. Thank you. Kimi's form is costing Ferrari even more money than you realize. Ferrari will weigh the pros and cons of Investment from Santander against their cost of paying Sexy Boy this huge salary. Ferrari need to win championships to sell luxury cars that they stock. The rich want success. They buy the cars that Ferrari produce. Kimi will land up in the loss column for them but they will recoup triple if they can produce a World Champion and the Consructors Championship. Right now, Kimi's winless streak 22 Races is costing them money in loss of interest and the sale of their cars.

This is billion Euro industry.Plus and minus's. Alonso would be a super plus'sssssssss.I would love for Kimi to stay, so that we can put to rest all our theories.

And just like I thought - no real justifications, only fanboy-foam.

Can you set your fanboyism aside and think it through more clearly?

Ok, so Kimi only gave 1 WDC and 2 WCC's to Ferrari, he failed in giving them the 2nd WDC and only came in 3rd last season. How much did Massa again give during his Ferrari-years?

Sponsors pay Kimi's and Massa's salary so it isn't exactly out of Ferrari's own pocket, is it?

LOL - I never knew it was the championship that sold the cars. F1 might need Ferrari but Ferrari most certainly not need F1. Their main business is elsewhere.

And to continue, you are so right. Alonso's results from the last two seasons are so outshining Kimi's.

Both went to a new team in 2007. Team mates... shall we compare their performances in the team mate -light and look at the results since you're the one who doesn't want any sugarcoated reality.

Enlighten me please. Without excuses this time.

Looks like Alonso to Ferrari seems like a really important thing for the Alonso-fans.

I wouldn't even care if they would sack Kimi. The negativity around him isn't going to end so I see no point in him staying there. I would actually love to see him in another team - or better yet in rally ;)

All Alonso fans can and must concede the terrible results that Alonso has produced for the last two seasons. This has to be related to the fact that he is already a Double World Champion and that his Maclaren season was close, but no Championship.

So for Alonso fans, we see this for what it is. We have to shut up about the results and bleed through what he is going through. We dont name reasons for this.

Now what is totally irritating is when someone like Kimi drives a Ferrari, gets paid more than Massa, and cannot produce what Massa has and still is. Can you admit that it is foolish, arrogant, blindly stupid, for Kimi, not to want to be able enough to want the help of even Michael Schumacher? Kimi does not have the fire that a Schumacher, Senna, Prost or even Alonso has. He is the Iceman. An appropriate name for a guy who works with the best team in formula one, and cannot find a way to win. Your conspiracy theories is your comfort to explain to yourselves only, that you have found the reasons yourselves for Kimi's mediocrity.

Until Kimi proves to everybody that he has the fire to win, and proves it by winning, the record books will show long after Kimi is retired that he will hardly get a mention.

I think Alonso fans would be more than elated if Renault could give Alonso the car he neeeds. We all just want him to be given the opportunity that Massa and Kimi has because we know what he will do with it. We all want Alonso to win. Simple.

Sorry if this comes twice :(

To all Alonso-fans, hope this doesn't offend you, it's not meant for you. It's like f1premier and me ;)

Okay, okay, you never get tired of bringing up the 2WDC. Let's look at results and results only. Alonso won his last WDC in 2006. Has he lost his skills? Where is the extra 6 tenths he is told to bring to every team he goes to? Shouldn't he at least by now be leading the championship? After all this is already his 2nd season in Renault.

To be honest I was expecting more rational facts since I specifically asked for them but what do I get?'He already is a 2WDC' and 'the championship was so close'. No excuses and yet excuses is what I get ;)

So you bleed and shut up but don't name reasons. Fine. Some things are sometimes best unspoken ;)

Let's take a look at Alonso's salary.... Phew!!! Quite a lot considering he hasn't brought the WDC or the WCC in two years... Why doesn't that irritate you?

He already won 2 WDC's with Renault. Now why hasn't he repeated it? Is he too lazy to get involved in the technical development and just cashes in the money? Or shock and horror - has he lost his edge?

So are you relying on old facts and repeating '2WDC, 2WDC,2WDC' so it makes you feel better? Oh but I forgot, he was so close to winning, wasn't he? There's the excuse from a true foaming fanboy.

Funny how I'm a true fangirl but I don't think in the lines: Kimi would have won the WDC if the car was reliable during his Macca-years. I was genuinely happy for Alonso. And for Hamilton. Whoever gets most point wins the WDC. No reason to paint the picture different with if's and but's.

Conspiracy theories? Pot. Kettle. Black. Unless of course you've had a chat with Monty himself telling that Alonso will take Kimi's seat before this season ends. Or the spy-saga.

You might be so concerned about the history books and who is named but I'm different. Like Kimi said: I have a contract for next year and I'm not interested in what is going to happen if I don't drive here myself anymore.

And why should he be interested? It's the past and that's that and the future lies ahead. New opportunities, new experiences. So please don't worry about if Kimi gets his name in the books or not.

Here's the key difference: you want the Name in the Book as a Great One. I want to see my guy race. I'm not interested in statistics nor am I living in the past. I have no problem with Kimi not winning. In fact, it's great to see him race in the midfield. Pure gold.

Why do I love to see him race? I love the way he takes the corners almost millimeter to millimeter the same way. He likes to dive into the corners and saves in the process both tyres and fuel.

I also love the way he is behind someone waiting for the opportunity to overtake because he plays a fair game on the track. I still remember the battle between Kubica and Kimi from last year, a battle Kubica won. It didn't take away anything and both men said they enjoyed it to the fullest. Sorry if this doesn't fall into your category of a true F1-fan.

But man did you reveal yourself with your impeccable description of female Kimi-fans. Not once, not twice but three times. Three times is a charme. We finally got it ;)

Female emotionally upset rant over. No facts. Immature. blinded and unrealistic. LOL

Wow...Phew! Wow ! Clouded perception is a disease. Let me remind you that Alonso DID WIN two races last year. Also, that all and sundry agreed that for the last 10 races of last year, that he , Alonso, did outscore all with points and consistency.
You must concede that there is a difference in the perception of how males and females view the sport. I do not like Alonso as much as I admire his skill and determination to fight for wins and succeed. There is no cuteness factor that blinds my perception OF THE FACTS.
So there. Even with the donkey that Renault has supplied to Alonso, he still found ways to whip all at the end of the season last year. He is a great driver. Period. And as much as you want to dilute Alonso's achievement, it is simply something that makes you look extremely silly and also reaffirms what I say about the emotional responses different fans have in relation to the favorite drivers. Yours is based on making a million excuses for Kimi's mediocrity and comparing to Alonso's achievements.
You like Kimi because you like him. This is not the point that we are debating here. There is nothing said here that is not based on fact and results. Taking my comments personally is like I have said, an emotional response to the criticism I have directed at Sexy Boy. So go ahead and defend your Kimi until hell freezes over. For the length of time he has been in Formula 1 and compare it to Alonso is something you look quite foolish doing.
Kimi is a MEDIOCRE achiever in the sport. He is inconsistent. He blows hot and cold. He is an overhyped Driver. To prove this, please go ahead and compare the records of Alonso to Kimi or KImi to other Champions of the past, and maybe your perception will clear. Until then, nothing will change in your mind. You will like him because you like him. I will admire and respect Alonso for his consistency, his skill to bring his car home and for his achievements for his age.
Whatever!!!! seems to be your way out of what I say.Yeah, I got it. Whatever happens with Kimi, you will still like him for your reasons. My reasons for not offering him my respect is that his brain is elsewhere when he climbs into a cockpit. Pity, he could have done better. In that way, he would have given your arguments some substance. Sadly, Nothing changes my opinion of this Medicore driver.

Well I really don't want to get involved in the argument.we all support our various teams and drivers for whatever reasons.
BUT- the real hammer on TV yesterday was that they confirmed Alonso would definitely be at Ferrari next year but would replace Massa........I know he is becoming a daddy at the end of this year but Massa quitting/being pushed? Now that I do not understand at all..........
PS- it is also the last race for Bourdais and Piquet..........Tell me the next daft rumour please..........

Is this is true, then it would be extremely unfair for Ferrari to do this. Massa missed his championship by a birp on Glocks part. The Upside would be that if Alonso did become Kimi's teammate, that Alonso would put to rest that Kimi is a great driver. He is not.

Sorry if this comes twice :(

WOW Siraj, I stated in the end of my comment that it was a female emotionally upset rant, what's your excuse?

JOKING!!!

I wasn't even serious but the grave and serious response I got from you....

As if I would try or even want to change anybody's opinion here - Kimi is what he is to you and that's fine with me. I respect your opinion even if I don't share it.

One thing amazes me though... you have this opinion of me liking Kimi for his cuteness. I honestly don't remember ever saying anything like that because that is not how I see him. Why would I write something like that? Again, I respect your opinion if that is what you think I think.

I was hoping this would have stayed light and witty because on another forum the Lewis-fans love arguing with me. They provoke me with a silly Kimi-comment and I give back a comment about Lewis and we all laugh and have fun. That's how I came up with the 'foaming fanboy' after being told 'I wouldn't have you any other way, supporting Kimi, warts and all'.

I laugh at the jokes they make about Kimi, the photoshopped pictures they make of Kimi BUT they have never looked down on me because I'm a female, on the contrary, they like my soft-skills and I can sense the respect they have for me because of them.

While your point was the facts in your comment I'm going to stop here because this is not something I see as any creative discussion.

Cube99 for example always bashes Kimi in a funny way so it really isn't about Kimi-bashing in my case. It's about the way you present it and about the way you are able to take back Alonso-bashing which I really don't mean. People here know how much I admire and respect Alonso and I was even voted the forumer of the year here, imagine that! Would an Alonso-basher be even considered?

But Siraj, the main thing that bothered me a lot was your disrespect towards female fans :(

That is something I didn't expect from you.

Yes, we write in a different way and it's sad that our contribution is seen as silly, clouded, with no facts.

That one I took to my heart and it will probably make me less confident in the future when writing here in this forum. I don't know for how many men here you spoke for.

And I want to end this rant by saying that I also respect your opinion about me no matter how I felt it. In the end I'm responsible for my feelings, not you ;)

Peace

There is a difference in the way female fans and male fans view sports. We are different physiologically, emotionally, and cognitively. This fact goes back as long as our human history. So if you found this observation to be belittling in any way, then those are your emotions that you own.

I say again. Women and men differ in their perceptions of sport....and countless other things. It is not meant to be diminishing of your proactiveness in voicing your opinions. I stand by what I said. Please note that you said nothing in response to the facts that I mentioned. This was an emotional rant without sticking to the topic that Sexy Boy, is a mini achiever in this sport.

It would be hard for you to find men like me that respect women as much as I do. Yet, again and again.... I say "women fans are different in their perceptions of sport as compared to men.". THis man also says that Heiki would have done better in a Ferrari than the Poster Boy.

LOL - I never knew it was the championship that sold the cars. F1 might need Ferrari but Ferrari most certainly not need F1. Their main business is elsewhere.
Sadly Nicole it's called consistency. Keep in mind Massa has only been at Ferrari 1 year longer than Kimi, so it's not "during all his years". But let's look at it, Massa in Brazil 2007 not only set up the race for Ferrari to come in 1-2, but single handedly played the supporting role to gift Kimi with the WDC, make no mistake, without Massa, Kimi would not have been WDC in 2007. In 2008 the pit crew and the Ferrari team cost Massa his WDC, with terrible mistakes in the pit lane that cost him probably 30 odd points. During that time though Massa has remained consistent, while Kimi has just gone from bad to worse. And just for the record, it was not only Kimi who gave Ferrari their consrtructors in 2007 and 2008, but both Kimi and Massa. The difference between the two, why should ferrari pay Kimi $28 mil only to see Massa outdo him in all aspects for a mere $8mil. Regradless of who's paying the salaries, if I was one of the sponsors I would be asking many questions about the $28mil bloke right about now, he certainly is not worth $1 mil a year with the way he is performing.
