Swimming in the Connecticut River can be very dangerous. Even an experienced swimmer has to be very careful. Currents, underwater obstacals, and boaters in the water all can cause a tragedy. Always have a buddy when you swim. This is a very sad loss.

Tragic...but sadly parents should keep a close eye on their children. These are the kinds of things that happen.

Hindsight is very easy to say what the parents should have done. I am certain this is not what the parents wanted to happen on a beatiful saturday day. God bless the family my heart is with you.

This is a terrible loss, I agree. However, I question why this child was allowed to swim in the CT river. I don't know one person who would allow their child to swim there. Parents use your heads!

Every sentence in this story begins with 'police'. Actually, other media sources report that the unfortunate victim was recovered from the river and transported to the hospital not by the 'police' but by another public safety department. Maybe the interns at 22 don't know the difference. You get what you pay for.

you should think of being more sensitive, I am part of that boys family and am deeply offended that you have the nerve to say such things about a young child dying.
Pay no mind to the insensitive knuckle head. The name says it all. "none" must be this person I.Q. My heart goes out to you and this boys family.
