with all the political and social comments we all seem to love to make here, I have to say this is the kind of worthwhile story that covers the real hope of our future. If only a few of these kids "catch fire" with the science involved here, it was well worth the trip. Good on all that make this happen, no matter what your political persuasion. God bless.

How much did this boondoggle cost the taxpayers? If these kids would learn to read instead of build robots, maybe test scores would finally start to go up!

Fire the genius that decided to waste our taxes on this!

the program is funded by donation (both in kind and monetary) and snice you probaly already know that the US is falling behind in STEM and other scinces this is a very worhwhile start to get studetns interested on the sciences and engineering- glad to see that you spent time vetting and researching this before you made the comment where your only conren was about the money - very nice forward think that everything is about the test- one could make the assumtion that just because you do well on a test with no appreciable application that will help our students become sucessfull-- it does not and the research both from private and public firms come to the same conclusion- just as one could make the argument that having the internet and a computer does not make you the aribter fo comments without justification and verification of the subject matter

A textbook and notebook should be good enough for these self entitled kids to learn. You dont need to build robots to learn. It is time to stop wasting money on usless feel good projects like this.
