There are 12 comments on the Yahoo! story from Dec 16, 2012, titled Obama: 'We can't tolerate this anymore'. In it, Yahoo! reports that:

People hold hands in a bar near Sandy Hook Elementary School as U.S. President Barack Obama speaks in Newtown, a President Barack Obama assured the grieving, shell-shocked Newtown community on Sunday that "you are not alone" and vowed sternly to wield "whatever power this office holds" in a quest to prevent future mass shootings.

You want to prevent future mass slayings?

The answer to that is simple. Get the freaking liberal indoctrination out of public schools.

Quit promoting kids that can't add 2 + 2. Stop sending kids on to the next grade that can't read, write or spell because failing them would "hurt their feelings."

Bring back discipline, in the home and in the classroom.

Time outs and taking away video games doesn't work.

Smack the little buggers up along side the head once or twice and give them a dose of reality.

I'll bite...

Liberal indoctrination? I'd like some real examples of this liberal indoctrination please.

Neither party really gives a damn about kids who can't read or write or add. They just say they do when it can benefit them. It's been this way for all my 37 years here on this earth and it doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon.

I grew up in the generation that got the rod old school style as in cut and shave it yourself to get beat with it later and obviously so had many others which prompted most of us to take it easier on our children because we got it bad. I'm not a hands off parent as I home school my 2 boys but you must go deeper. It's not as simple as you want it to be with just doing a few things here and there and the world becomes a better place. Children now see their parents a handful of waking our per day IF they're lucky. Some get a kiss goodnight once they're already asleep during the week and don't see their parents until they have a day off. Kid's teachers know them better than their own parents do. How can we raise our kids right if we don't know them?

You must stop expecting our government to help or guide us and we really don't want the government in our family business because then they will truly own us.

But it's sad that it's come to our president having to speak at yet another massacre saying enough is enough. It's 2012 almost 2013 and we're supposed to be civilized and the majority is supposed to be "God fearing". Shouldn't we know and have moved past this barbaric behavior by now?

And by the way, to answer you question of how to prevent mass slayings...No more guns. Period. Try pulling off a mass slaying single-handedly with a knife or a bat or a sword or brass knuckles. I guarantee you it will not be close to 30 people.

You can defend yourself or run away from any person yielding any of those weapons I just mentioned and live even though you might possibly get maimed but you can only fight a gun with a gun. You're not outrunning a bullet and to keep telling people to buy more guns for protection and now telling teachers they should carry guns at school just in case is like fighting fire with fire and it's the most asinine crap I've ever heard.

Outlaw guns and ammo, build a great wall at the Mexico border and we'll be forced to find problems like this ever again. Stay on the path we're on, expect more situations like this or worse.

You are just so ignorant of what is going on in the world these days.

Enlighten yourself just a little.

Wow. I thought you had something profound to enlighten me with. Instead it was merely a cop out of truly answering the questions I had for you and it actually backs up MY POINTS so thank you in a way.

This is taken from the same article you posted: All the students were aged 4 or 5 years old. Thursday's attack at the Zhongxin Kindergarten left five students badly injured, two of them in critical condition, in the eastern city of Taixing, said Zhu Guiming, an official with the municipal propaganda department. Two teachers and the security guard were also hurt. Initially officials had reported that 28 children had been hurt but they later realized they had miscounted.

Ok. So how is that like Newtown where 27 people were KILLED and 20 of that being children? Only 4 children unfortunately died in Taixing, China. That's considerably less by my calculations but horrific nonetheless. Why was the death toll less? Say it with me now....BECAUSE HE DIDN'T USE A GUN! Only a knife.

Look in the mirror before you dare call anyone ignorant again.

And before you bring up the 2nd amendment I'll say this. That was AGES AGO(roughly 236 years)when there actually was a threat of England, Spain, France or our Natives invading settled towns. Today here in this modern Christian era(yea right)where we're supposed to be non-violent there is absolutely no need to have guns and there is absolutely no threat of foreign invaders. Our own police don't need firearms if there are no guns. We here in America the great and grand "Christian nation" that we're supposed to be is somehow leading the world for gun related deaths by miles!

Here, enlighten yourself: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldview...

By the way, negative "judge it's!" won't take away from the facts.

This is a question for anyone:
How can we end gun violence or gun related deaths while we still have the ability to buy and own as many guns as we want? Plus all the ammunition we can store?

If anyone can answer that legitimately you should be the president's TOP adviser no questions asked. Hell, you could probably at this point be the President if you can figure that out.

Every household in Switzerland has a weapon, most fully automatic, issued by the government yet gun crime there is non-existent.

The problem here isn't with the guns and ammo. It is the thought process. Gun control will never address that issue.

You still didn't address how to solve the gun related deaths in America.

We have proved as a nation we are not capable mentally and emotionally of responsibly owning firearms as we are far and away the #1 nation for gun related killings out of supposed civilized and developed countries.

Mrs. Lanza the mother of the Newtown murderer KNEW her son was mentally unstable as he had been diagnosed with mental disorders previously and she thought that buying firearms and teaching her mentally unstable child how to use guns was a good outlet for him. There are probably a million different "outlets" she could have introduced to her unstable son that didn't involve firearms or violence but she was irresponsible herself and paid the ultimate price for her short sighted ignorance. Mental illness and firearms should NEVER mix and a responsible person knows that.

Can we count on responsible people to keep their firearms out of unstable hands that wish to do harm? The numbers don't lie. We can not.

How many more Colombines, Newtowns, Virginia Techs need to happen? How many more innocent babies and people need to be shot before you realize that without guns these mass murders could not have happened?

My generation grew up with guns in schools, in the Boy Scouts, and in society in general There were no mass shootings, no drug infested school. Streets were safe at night, most people didn't even lock their doors at night.

Liberals screwed this country up and now you want us all to relinquish our rights so you can "fix" it? Obviously, many here think you've fixed it enough with your "if it feels good, so it" and "don't hurt their little feelings by disciplining them" way of thinking.

How can you say liberals are the ones who've messed the country up when conservatives are the ones who want guns and detest gun control?

Political views aside as I have NO political affiliation as it's all BS, times have changed from when you grew up and from when I grew up. I used to be able to ride my bike everywhere as a child alone and with friends and I encountered very few problems. Now just letting your child walk home from school is like playing Russian roulette with all the kidnappings etc..

In knowing times have changed for the worse we have to as a people change in order to counter-act and restore the balance. Right now so many people are dying from guns. I live in Tulsa, Ok. and we have a gun related homicide it seems every other day and a shooting 2-3 times a day and this is a heavily conservative city and state so republican or democrat it's affecting us all.

We just had a kid get arrested because he was about to copy cat Columbine in Bartlesville, Ok.. He had guns, blue prints of the school and all ready to go. Today we had a shooting outside of a local elementary school and the school had to be locked down past the time school session was over.

If you have a person with bad intentions carrying anything non-projectile for a weapon that person can be dealt with swiftly with low or no casualties. You have that same person now armed with a firearm we've seen what they can and have done to the innocent.

This is a different day and age my friend and eliminating a bad persons main weapon to execute their sick thoughts can only be a good thing. You will see our homicide rate drop considerably.

And for the record I spank my children when and if with my hand. I don't use a switch to beat their butts and backs of their legs like my mother used to do to me until I bled.
