USC offensive line feeling the pressure

Full story: LA Daily News

One of the more interesting comments following USC's offensive meltdown at Arizona State occurred when quarterback Matt Barkley said the Sun Devils' defensive ends lined up wider than expected and he could not see them when they tipped his passes.

The ASU game was somewhat reminiscent of the UCLA debacle of 2006 when the coaching staff REFUSED to give any help to the offensive takcles against Davis and Hickman...and we all know what the end result was. The arrogant attitude of the SC coaches is the primary reason that the offense struggled against both Oregon and ASU. When you are facing an attack style of defense...like both Oregon and ASU...how about mixing in some screens and reverses. In the words of Albert Einstein...stupidity is when you do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome.

I CAN'T REMEMBER SC HAVING ALL THESE INJURIES TO KEY PERSONEL....GIVE SC SOME CREDIT, ASU HAS ONE OF THE BEST DEFENSE'S IN THE COUNTRY. AND THE TROJANS WERE ABLE TO RUSH CLOSE TO 150 YARDS. BARKLEY ALSO HAD 4-5 DROPPED PASSES THAT WOULD HAVE ADDED ANOTHER 100 YARDS TO HIS STATS.

The lame injury excuse would work if you didn't have primo 5 star talent waiting in the wings at every position. The wave is getting close to the sand, that is all.

If the Trojan defense plays like it has in the last 4 games Gerhart & company will tear USC up.
If Barkley struggles again and is not pulled we are doomed.
Let's hope for the best.
GO SC!

Why is everyone crapping on SC, this was suppossed to be their rebuilding year and they are ranked#9. You tell me of any other team to loose their starting qb,lb's and the other 7 players they lost in the 1st 1/2 rounds of the NFL and be in the same spot SC is at. Answer NOT ONE TEAM IN THE COUNTRY WOULD OR COULD AFFORD THAT AND BE IN THE TOP 10. Georgia lost their satrting qb and rb and look where there at??????/

It only became a rebuilding year after they lost to Washington, nice try. Your back-up and third string QB's could both start and be very productive at any other D-1 school in the country. At the beginning of the season trojan fans were making such claims that Barkley would never lose, and that usc could beat the Miami Dolphins, and other such nonsence. You guys try and pound this crap down everyone's throat and then simply go back on your words and pretend that nothing like that ever happened the second you are proven wrong. Maybe peter carroll should try coaching rather than teaching the US government how to properly conduct a cover-up operation?

Stars rate an athletes athletic ability. If hes a defensive back he could be a 4 star athlete but still only be at 160lbs. Means it takes time to develop athletes but you never played so you wouldnt know that. I started all four years and never made an all american list until my senior year. Expereience, size, the speed of the game all take time to learn and grow into--FOOL.

Yeah, sure. It really sucks when, even if you aren't in the BCS title game you still have an opportunity to go to a BCS game. This is an opportunity that UCLA can only dream about. They won't even get a sniff of the Las Vegas Bowl AGAIN this year.

I want to Notre Dame as an undergraduate but picked USC to win the championship back in early August. I did that because I grew up in the Pac-10 region and am very familiar with the history. Ironically, the reality is that U. of Arizona and Stanford appear to be the top two teams in the conference right now. But USC can still make a comeback.

USC is not doing nearly as bad as FSU. Ponder tore his shoulder, so now they have a raw backup who is supposed to get ready for the showdown with Florida. I feel sorry for that inexperienced quarterback. As for Notre Dame, Weis is a candidate for major heart disease. But I think they could improve next year.

USC will probably come back next year. Barkley was only a freshman. They may not win the conference. But they haven't crumbled like ND and FSU. The gold standard for the worse would be WSU or CU Boulder with that 5'8" quarterback.

Are you trojies being paid to come on to the blogs and write this stuff? If EVERYONE knew and claimed it was a rebuilding year this year at usc, then please post a link to something that proves your statement. I will make it easy, here are the trojie on-line communities you can look through, should be VERY EASY to find information that would support your claim, if it is indeed true (it is not). These communities have memberships in the thousands, so it is a wonderful representation of all types of fans, and their inputs. You will find, that out of thousands of people, and hundreds of thousands of posts, not one person even mentions the word "rebuilding" until after the Washington Loss, and ad nauseam after the Oregon loss. We are all laughing at you guys, by the way!

Who? Where? Sorry buddy, I've been here and don't recall anybody on here saying that sort of stuff. Hell, even Carroll himself would say things like "Barkley is pretty good, for a freshman." Again, your statement is full of crap.

Hey, if you guys can show proof of my statements being false, please do so! I have given you multiple avenues to explore, and am anxiously waiting for your response. I don't want BS spin, so save that for Sunday morning. If you refuse to come up to the plate and respond with anything other than direct links to anything that supports your claim, I will take that as a surrender as well as an example of the foolishness that surrounds the trojan program in these dark times of being average. Good day.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aquarius

The more you want to control someone, or someone wants to control you, the more difficult life will be today. It's a Full Moon and a lunar eclipse, so the last thing you should do now is to act as though you own this person, or tell them what to do, because it will be an instant recipe for rebellion and trouble. Mars is retro in your house of significant others and open enemies after all. If you don't want to spoil the evening's celebrations you'll have to make compromises, and hope that this other person will do the same. Don't let the fuss stop you having a very happy New Year's Eve.
