Any unbeaten team regardless of who they play would probably be ranked at this point of the season.

Oregon's not the only one who gets screwed by having to face an FCS team (or a low-level non-BCS conference team) last-minute because a bigger team opts out. It drives me insanse to. For instance, USC is trying to work something out to get Alabama in that new Cowboys Stadium next year, but right now, their schedule is full and if they could get Bama, they'll likely drop Hawaii (they've play them enough anyways)

I was one of many who was ticked that Boise didn't get a BCS berth last year with another undefeated mark, but the lost to TCU prooved the Boise supporters all wrong. Oregon winning makes Boise's win more respectable, something they really lacked last year was that statement victory (Oregon wasn't as good as they are now for some reason and Boise's WAC rivals such as Fresno and Hawaii have fallened off the radar as far as top 25 football teams.)

all the students and fans of USC should be ashamed of themselves for supporting this losing organisation.
I am ashamed to be a resident of Los Angeles, the same city that hosts a loser football team like the Trojans.
what really upsets me is that the Trojans didnt even try to win the game, after the Oregon Ducks started to pull away.
Shame on barkley, the quarterback for throwing an interception at the end of the game, shame of Pete carroll for not coming up with any plays that really mattered, and SHAME on the USC Fans for being stupid and thoughtless on thinking SC even had a chance to win this one!
I knew that Stanford would beat Oregon. The ex-USC assistant who now coaches at UW said that Stanford was better than LSU and USC. But now who is the Pac-10 front-runner? U of A? That would be weird. They are the only Pac-10 team to have never gone to a Rose Bowl. I know because I went to ASU for graduate school (Arizona State).

We only had the game on the radio, but Stanford took
a 10 point lead early in the first quarter and never
let go of it.

From what I heard there may have been a little bit of
a letdown after the win last week against USC, but
the determining factor was that Stanford's offensive
line dominated a lighter and less experienced Oregon
line. A call here or a call there and it might have
gone the other way, but my read was that Stanford ...
coming off a bye week ... simply made the plays when
a play was needed.

The total yards ... Oregon 570 vs. Stanford 505 ...
surprised me, though my son, who attended the game
said afterwards that it wasn't as bad as it feels.

The big game now will be in at Arizona when the Ducks
travel there, though everyone should now take Oregon
State a bit more seriously now.

The PAC-10 is a tough place to play this year. Good
teams.

I'll be at the homecoming game next week against Stanford. It should be a wild one as long as our defense shows up to play. Fight on!

Whats going on with your offense ?, Barkley looked confused all night

That 6'8" QB that Zona St put in the 2nd half is going to be stud. He looked calm and collected.

I watched the past two games on TV and noticed that Barkley had a timid/scared look on his face from the very start of the game which got worse as time elapsed. The pressure is enormous regardless of how cool he wants to come off to his coaches, team, and fans. I'm looking forward to his progress in the next few years. Heisman candidate in 2011?? Oh, yeah!

You got what you wanted didn't you, Wolf? How the hell did you construct this thought:
"But the way the Ducks (7-1, 5-0) won made a mockery of Carroll's success at USC?"
The Ducks won a game. No one can mock USC's success at USC. By the way, Oregon has never won a game in the Coliseum since the time of the great Akili Smith. Whatever happened to him?
USC ddin't play its game. That would have had to have been a different defense. A) Jam the Oregon receivers at the line of Scrimmage. B) Have Mays spy Masoli and bash him as he crossed the line of scrimmage. C) Run the Cornerback blitz and have the Defensive ends go into coverage on those plays.
What is sad for Oregon is that none of their players on offense will play in the NFL. Anyone could see that this was a gimmicky offense and USC's coach, Pete Carroll, had his players in the wrong defense. Worse for Oregon, offensive players of size and skill won't go to Eugene. The Oregon offense is favoring quick small guys about 5'7: to 5'8" -- taller than that not needed.
An offense designed for deception and based on a gimmick will clrash and burn everytime. When will that happen? On the outside of the range of time, let's see if Oregon can win in the Coliseum before a diferent crowd while taking on a USC offense and defense that is a year more experienced. If they can't beat USC at USC, then even Akili Smith did what the current Oregon crew hasn't been able to do in this decade.
If you know so much, why aren't you coaching big time college football?

Why are you bagging on USC? You must be really brave considering you have the nerve to call me "stupid" and "thoughtless". Yeah, we lost, but as if your team hasn't ever lost! The nerve!

Stanford has played "lights out" at home (4-0), but has
been 2-3 on the road. No excuses here, but that may
have been the difference on Saturday.
