I know the person who first posted is right. My son was in the same block with this man and told me in a call that the man had been throwing up all day and asked over and over for help and the guards told him he just had stomach flu and he would be fine. Guess what? They were wrong. There was also anothr prisoner who died sitting in his wheel chair in his call the same week. This is no different then when a man hung himself a few years ago in plain sight of the gurads while they sat in their glass enclosed room where they can watch the gen pop and did not one thing to stop him. This is the same prison that had to fire a bunch of guards for letting a drug dealer have a cell phone and trafic drugs in the prison a few years ago also. They did get a new warden but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. Prison reform needed? Ya think?

First off the few people who are making ignorant comments about the mother and prisoners make me sick!! Get a life....its really sad that the most important things you have to do is sit on your computer and post negativity. Your COOL! I am not saying people who break the law should not be punished but you are no better then they are by being jugemental and callous....we just can't lock people like you up! Those who judge will be judged! LOSERS

The torment of human frustration, whatever its immediate cause, is the knowledge that the self is in prison, its vital force and "mangled mind" leaking away in lonely, wasteful self-conflict.
to all the judgentals No garden is without its weeds.
We are all inclined to judge ourselves by our ideals; others, by their acts.

When was it that this prisoner died? My brother in law is currently incarcerated at Greensburg and we have heard nothing from him about this. For all of you "people" that imply that you are so self righteous, not all prisoners are bad people. Yes, they have made mistakes and thay are paying for those mistakes with incarceration. It has always been up to society to rahbilitate the prisoners to be a productive part of society and make them see the ways they went wrong. Yes, there are a few that are "career criminals", but that is because society has not taken the time nor made the effort to show them the way and educate them. Alot of the time, a life of crime is all they know. I hope one day, a member of your own family, if not yourselves find yourself in a situation similar to where they are and then we will see who is judgemental.

The upside is that wankers like your brother in law help contribute to our local economy.

mama knows that there have been two recent beatings at the county jail in greensburg pa. i know that i would be confused if someone i knew was in prison and beaten or neglected. i can't imagine how you can have no compassion for a human. you do know that you can't beat a dog or kill a dog in this country without answering for it. how can you think this is acceptable behavior in today's society. i am outraged to think that my tax dollars are being spent on abuse. do you have a heart? your kidding - right wrote: Read the article- it said State Prison - Prisoners mom says this is the same prison where they had problems a few years ago - wrong -that was the county . This attitude that jail is inevitable is laughable. Every individual controls his own destiny. Snitches and CIs can only role on people who have something to hide. The notion that my "boy" isn't a bad guy and doesn't deserve beaten is noteworthy. But just like a smart guy stays out of the wrong neighborhood they also stay out of jail. I don't believe your tax money would even pay to feed one of these yardbirds let lone pay for a bodyguard for him. Send mo' money!

You seem to have alot of opinions. I think all I am trying to say is that individuals in certain roles in society ie. the police, prison gaurds ect. take on the position and sometimes abuse their power or position. Examples are prison gaurds beating inmates for no reason. Police peppering grandmothers...and other things you see on the news. I to feel that you can control your own destiny to a certain point but what about the drunk driver....Do you truly have control over things like that. I don't think so. Just trying to say that ideally regardless of someone else's poor decisions that we as members of society should try to see that the individuals put in place to oversee the correctional or law enforcement should conduct themselves in the manner that their position requires. The prison system is to reform not abuse. I agree that all who end up there are not the upper crust of society but remember that reform is the idea. I agree send no money just make sure the indivduals hired earn their pay. There are already many tax dollars wasted. I thought about yours and hope you think about mine. Lock up all those bad boys out there...give their mama's good or bad a box of kleenex. Try to remember that we all have our own level of intelligence and some of our elevators never make it to the upper floors. Do you know a large percentage of our population is unable to read and write? How do these individuals read the road signs, laws or hand writing on the wall? Did you control the amount of intelligence you were born with or just choose to only be so smart? Don't be offended just another opinion out there. Blah, you are correct. Mama, I suggest you secure a responsible position in a prison. You certainly would have your eyes opened. One small example, putting it bluntly: how would you like ****/**** thrown in your face. And the recipients of this material don't beat the prisoners. Difficult not to, but they don't. Believe it or not. Who cares!

you obviously do care. Why? I'm not ignorant. I know some people do their jobs the right way in spite of all the bad. That is what seperates them from the ones they're trying to reform and the ones who truly don't belong there. Those people should make a career change. Since you seem a little angry maybe you should consider a career change. I suggest you get one where there is no **** or **** being flung in your face. Maybe couseling would be good for you and then you would get a differnt out look. Some people are born into enviorments that produce nothing but ****/**** slingers. Others like you and I have been more fortunate. Make it count. HIT SLINGERS wrote: Blah, you are correct. Mama, I suggest you secure a responsible position in a prison.
