Will Mitrick and Kilgore be receiving pensions and healthcare benefits at our expense?
Maybe Mr. Chris can answer this, while explaining his courthouse 30 million dollar overrun.

First off, the courthouse overrun is not Chris Reilly's fault. Lori Mitrick is squarely to blame for not going after the contractor who didn't bother to do the work correctly. That would be the Kinsley Company, who ironically also donated to her campaign.

Now, to the real issue. When it comes to the Highpoint debacle, NO ONE has anyone to blame except the voting public who elected Lori Mitrick and Doug Kilgore to office. The man deserves exactly what he got. Every single penny. Because NO ONE has the right to take away someone else's rights, period. Yes, it'll cost us all $6 per person, but that may be a small price to pay, if it teaches the lesson to the gov't. of not stealing from the citizens.

Hey Packmule, I know the Constitution talks about Citizens with Rights but don't you feel that the government thinks we're actually subjects and that we should be grateful for that which they permit us to keep and do ?

Frankie,

Not sure where you are coming from, but we should NEVER be taking a citizens property, PERIOD. Taking this property was abusive and now will hit us all in the wallet.

York County government has screwed up every major project they have undertaken in the last 10 years, no matter who the commissioners are. The county government employees who screwed up these projects are STILL employed by the county with nice salaries, health insurance and retirement pay. If York County government were a private business, it would have been bankrupt years ago.

Forgot to mention that my county property taxes have tripled in the past 10 years to pay for these mistakes. I receive not one single service from York County for my taxes - no police, no fire, no road maintenance, no snow removal, etc.
Oh well, if the 2500 people employed by York County weren't getting paid with our money, they would actually have to get real jobs.

no one should be surprised at this. highpoint and other errors will always exist under the system of government the county uses.

chuck noll, or whoever the manager is, should be running the county. not elected officials who are only going to do things that get votes. you need an unbiased, politically safe person calling the shots and spending the money. the elected officials are important and have a job to do in overseeing the system and approving bills/ordinances, but they have no business in running the county government on a day to day basis. frankly they're not qualified no matter who they are. elected officials are always going to act in whatever way they think gets them votes. thats nothing to blame anyone for, its just how it is.

the commissioners should take a step back, dumb down their massive egos, and let the professionals run the show. then maybe we can avoid the next highpoint.

The costs should come directly from whatever paychecks Mitrick and Kilgore receive for the next 30 years.
Both said there would be no cost to taxpayers. The lying sacks of sh*t should live up to that.

If we never took property we'd have no highways and our economy would be weaker as a result.

Why not give it back for the money paid? Reverse the error instead of compounding it.

Lets rename Highpoint and call it Lowpoint. So these bastards continue to have us pay for their ill conceived legacy pursuits. At least these two S.O.B.s arent in office, of course they'll be on golf courses, or speaking at Obama rallies, while we get nicked and dimmed for their stupidity.

Where these two Liberal Democrats?

The county and state need to take away the easement and sell the land. To continue to dump money into yet another park when the county does a crap job of maintaining their current parks defies common sense.

Mitrick claims theatrics led to this -- she is absolutely right -- her OWN theatrics. Kilgore of course couldn't be reached, he has been riding on Mitricks coattails from day one and could buy himself a spine.

The public official immunity should have been lifted for this gross negligence. Never once did Mitrick or Kilgore ever consider what was in the best interest of the county residence and should pay the price accordingly

What I always founds funny about the Highpoint thing, was back when the County was still trying to take possession of it and everyone was concerned on how it was going to be paid for, the county came up with this grand master plan to develop another piece of land down the street with new townhomes or something like that. Whatever happened to that idea? I think it's funny how they try to get away with this crap. This situation is a pure example of how much we all get screwed by the government and how munipulitive they truely can be.

They look like Larry, Mo, and Curly, don't they? It's funny, but so did their predecessors, pictured here with Mo. ARE THERE ANY LEADERS IN THIS COUNTY WHO DO NOT DO THINGS IN THEIR OWN BEST INTERESTS, BUT DO THEM IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CONSTITUENTS.

Listen, Larry 2, Curly 2 and Mo, and Larry 1 Curly 1 and Mo, This is common sense and this is what they call management: FIGURE OUT HOW YOU PLAN TO PAY FOR SOMETHING BEFORE YOU DO IT. PLATTS SHOULD HAVE GONE TO FEDERAL OFFICES LONG AGO AND CURLY 2,( MR. HOKE )YOU SHOULD HAVE SET UP MEETINGS WITH OFFICIALS IN HARRISBURG LONG BEFORE THIS, NOT NOW.

Misters Stooges, you guys should be planning, not shooting from the hip. I understand why you are shooting from the hip.....it's because you have no management skills to plan. We elected the Stooges to manage, not to react. Oh, yeah, they are STOOGES.

seem like the whole world is going to you know where. all because the people all want more and more money everything seems to be going up except our pay checks you mean to tell me all this money that the people is taking out of our pay checks is not enough money to take care of what they need. first of all we were paying 10 dollars to work in the city now we are paying 52 doallars and it still is not enough money. more taxes and more taxes for what I,m not seeing no homes being built for people we are still living the same old condition that I have been living in for the past 48 years that I have benn in. AND PEOPLE ARE MOVING INTO OUR TOWN AND SAYING WE DONOT SPEAK NO ENGLISH. AND TAKING OUR MONEY. SENDING THE MONEY BACK HOME SO THAT when they are really to leave they will have their home built on our tax money.

if i remember correctly, wasn't mitrick and kilgores decision based on the support of platts and some hertiage society deal. where is platts now and i believe they all three should be held accountable instead of taxpayers.

Yes ustaxpayer Mitrick & Kilgore will indeed be receiving pensions and health care benefits at our expense!

The courthouse wasn't Mr. Chris' idea, it was late commissioner Bob Minnich's. Late commissioner Shirley Glass went right along with him. She was supposed to be the fox standing watch over the chickens. Instead she was a chicken herself.
