On average, about 4/5 days a week? You definitely need a 12-step program, Ms. Downright Eli-Libra!<quoted text>
I'm bock!
You know, upright ladies don't answer questions like how often they elevate their endorphins...geez louise.....
but I'm downright, so I'd say on average about 4/5 days a week.
And hasn't the news reached Madison that going to the gym is a good thing?
So, how was the Mets game? Did you have fun with your friends?

Lollll...U are hilarious (adj.) How could I forget the thread we're on here? FFM, I think you should apply for the Chief job, then u could hire me for the water patrol unit! Well I am far too un-frugual, and happy to see you splurged on your guest!!!! And to see home runs!!! That is totally cool!!!! Tell me, if it is not too personal....did you eat a hot dog? |
No, I won’t apply to be Chief. I don’t have much, but what little I have has been acquired honestly, and I do not desire ill-gotten gains.(In this regard I note that current Madison Police Chief has been suspended for alleged official malfeasance; his predecessor, who was removed from office involuntarily, is in State prison for theft – the office of Chief has a long, proud history of incompetence and criminality). The interim, temporary Madison Police Chief is reportedly a good man, although I have learned from long experience to take the hype coming out of that cesspool with a grain of salt. The disgraceful bandits that we jocularly refer to as "Police Officers" in Madison are not only thieves, they have a penchant for falsity, as well, and one believes anything they say at his peril. Nevertheless, I believe that Chief Nolan should be afforded a fair opportunity to clean that sewer up, although the task is daunting. To answer your question, yes, we ate hot dogs and cracker jacks at the game. Isn’t that de rigueur at a ballgame? The Yankees just lost to the Rays, 2-1 in the 11th, damn it. |

Right on FFM! Keepin' it clean, I hear you! My best to the new Chief! And, yes, I do believe that hot dogs and cracker jacks are "the thing" although I have not been to a game in forever as they say. I'm with you...damn Yankees! |

Please forgive me for obsessing about the subject of the Madison Police Department. It has been a perennial problem for the years that I have lived in Town. Although the Department has always had fewer than 30 Officers, every year or two for the last 30 years, evidence of malfeasance and/or criminality by a Madison Police Officer has percolated up into public view; then, the powers that be report that the problem has been corrected, and request that the Town’s citizens "move on."
Now, 20%-25% of the Department’s Officers have been discharged based upon their on-duty conduct, several have been charged with on-duty felonies, and the Chief has been suspended for alleged official malfeasance. This Department costs the taxpayers a fortune -- over $3 million per year ($5 million per year, if benefits are expensed), to police a Town of less than 20,000. It is our second-largest expense, second only to education -- simultaneously, the MPD’s usefulness and competence is highly debatable. Sorry, but at this point I will not be assuaged by hollow assurances that the problem has been corrected and requests by those responsible to "move on." I will not be satisfied until there is demonstrably dramatic, lasting change. I believe that the most practical alternative is to disband the Madison Police Department altogether, and contract the State for police services. I’m no authority on the subject, and would welcome argument as to why this alternative is impractical or undesirable. To date, I have heard nothing that would change my view. |

Hi JGC.....just wanted to say to you that although you obviously have not had good experiences with law enforcement officers, there are many honorable good police officers out there. My brother is an officer and is a good and conscientious person. |
I don't believe that you ought to dignify a remark like that with a response. My problem isn't with Police Officers generally. I have several dear friends who are (retired) Police Officers. I can't, in my wildest imagination, conceive of any of them under any circumstances whatsoever, lying, stealing, molesting underage girls, etc., i.e., conduct routinely engaged in by Madison Police Officers. |

Hi my friend!!!! Oh, I totally understand...I am soo with you on this. LEO's that behave like this are a disgrace and dishonor to those who strive to make their communities a better, safer place. I really think you are right on with your comments. So, how is your evening....Yankees still ahead? |
I agree that law enforcement officers who behave like Madison Police Officers, i.e., lie, steal, molest under-age girls, etc., are a disgrace and dishonor to the overwhelming majority of Police Officers, who are honest and decent. Being a Police Officer is a very difficult job -- I personally couldn't do it -- and I'm grateful to to Police Officers who perform their duties honestly and competently. Yes, the Yankees defeated the Rays, 2-1, behind Mike Mussina. Unfortunately, the Rays are still leading the the AL East, and the Yankees' record is still below .500. |

Hmmm...interesting. How many cops have you personally met to know unequivocally the character of each and every one? Oddly, I rarely personally meet a police officer other than the ones in my family -I have five. And Fred and I are enjoying ourselves right here thank you very much. |

Hey Libra and Fred, let's really p!$$ off JGC. I think I'll write 10 or 15 paragraghs on this thread, on how my summer is going so far. |
1. Perhaps your suggestion that Libra and I go to a chat room, and stop mucking up this thread with our idle chit-chat, is a good one. Libra? 2. I doubt that there are reliable statistics regarding rates of lying, cheating, and stealing among Police Officers. We are each left with our personal experience. I have probably had more interactions with Police Officers than most, and my experience has been that, with the exception of Madison Police Officers, they are as honest and decent, if not more honest and decent, than most people. 3. I don't know how you can say that "all" or "every last" Police Officer is "scum," and that he/she lies, cheats and steals. Human experience reveals that there are good and bad people in every profession or occupation. As noted above, my personal experience is that Police Officers are more honest than most. 4. "Everybody does it," is the last refuge of a scoundrel. Everybody doesn't do it. Many, perhaps most, Madison Police Officers do it. Period. 5. Your hostility to Police Officers is evident (e.g., they are "scum," you have "no sympathy" for them, etc.) Where would society be without Police Officers? There would be a total breakdown of order, and it would be difficult, if not impossible, for you to do whatever you are into, unless you happen to be a criminal. 6. For the record, the underage girl molested by the Madison Police Officer was not a "little kid." If my memory serves me correctly, she was a Madison Police Explorer and a high school student. I don't wish to paint an inaccurate picture -- the reality is bad enough. |

Hahahahahahaha! How is your summer going? |
