Give me a break, waiting since 10 at night? Let me guess, they had like 5 cups of coffee and 2 packs of smokes during their wait not to mention probably some munchies. I wonder how many "thrifty" shoppers spent $20 or more just waiting to get that one tank of gas for 99 cents.

I heard about this on the news this morning and this is the price the whole country should be paying, but the government is out for itself and forget about the everyday person like all of us are. But the government forgets that. As the person above stated we should all be positive and not negative. I wouldn't be surprised if some people are just plan jealous that they couldn't be able to get it, so they become very negative - bad idea if the person stops and thinks about it.

I don't think anyone was jealous. I think that unless you were in the area at the time it happened, it just wasn't worth it for the rest of us to wait all night to save a few dollars on one tank of gas. I'm not so hard up that I need to wait 10 hours or more to save $30. If gas goes up to $10 a gallon, I'll get back to you..

Well said, unfortunately people are sheep. A coworker and I were trying to figure out what it would have taken us to waste a night sleep to do this...if it happened in our own town and if it was warm enough not to have run the car for heat. We said it had to be at least a $500 savings, but still, I still think it wouldnt have been worth it.

Some peoples priorities I just don't understand I guess.

My prediction is we'll be half way there by the 4th of July...maybe 5.50 /gal

Thanks Mr President...

I understand that the owner of the station absorbs the lose and that he kept the promotion open for an extra hour. I think that was a nice thing to do, it helped some people save a little money.
Maybe big oil should think about what they are doing to the Country that has protected their interest overseas with the blood of many generations and show some appreciation by lowering the price so our economy does't fall any further then it has already. If not nationalize the industries like other countries did.

I fill up at that station often, because his price of diesel is considerable cheaper any other station around. My first thought when I heard about the promotion mirrors many of the responses here. You couldn't pay me enough to wait in line to save 50 or 100 bucks
Not Surprised

I buy my gas there all the time....I would rather give my money to the local guy than to Exon or Mobil...they even lower their prices on Christmas Eve!

I think making fun of people for not cutting out "twinkies" as she put it, is also in her RIGHT to post as it is an opinion also. Don't judge yourself.

This is a rediculous promotion. All the time wasted waiting then all the gas wasted on top of that just doesnt make sense. I wouldnt pay .99 cents to see Christ appear nevertheless wait 4 hrs or so to pump fuel for that much! AAA must have had a field day with the idiots that ran out of fuel idling while waiting and the other idiot who couldnt get his car started after shutting it off.

I think it was a wonderful justure, but i feel instead of all the gas companies telling us how much they made in profit. they should cut the gas prices. dont they think us as americans get angry at the fact that they are still making a big profit and us little people are struggling. gas is costing some of us a one days pay. i would like to see the gas companies give back to us for once. have a wonderful day.

Im sorry, I understand everyone's point of view, but I go to this gas station all the time, its a savings all around, they are the cheapest. I still cant imagine sitting in a line all that time. Id rather spend the extra!

Sandra, you gave up sleep to save that $100? Here's an idea: don't drive a van if you don't have to. How big is your tank anyway to save $100? Sounds like it holds at least 30 gallons. Anyway, you sound really hard up for money, so I'm sure it was worth it for you, but the majority of the rest of us just drive a little less, make sure the air pressure in our tires is right, we change the air filter on time, do our scheduled maintenance, etc. Sleeping out all night to save a few dollars that isn't likely to come again, just doesn't matter in the big picture, and most of us need sleep because we work all day. You're lucky you don't have to work, but then maybe that's why you're trying to save all this gas money.
