Hopefully Erin S (See the Peeler Posts) was at the party and took the brunt of the police brutality. I can imagine her arguing with the police over the use of force and how they should change and be more kind to criminals.....I hate liberal weenies

"Do you know who I am" &"Do you know who my Family is" Did Not Work this time. Well, the lawyers and lawsuits will begin to keep the brats happy.

Nice prejudice generalizations there, Sweet Deal. I was there. It was not "out of control" whatsoever, only after police arrived and started instigating. There was no one yelling "Do you know who my family is?" The scene was actually girls slumped and crying because they had been shot by police pellet guns, and friends of mine who couldn't breath from tear gas. The only question I heard yelled was "Why are you shooting at us?" This was police brutality at its finest.

As with any inident, there are (3) three sides to the story. These days it seems that no matter what the police do they are always in the wrong and their authority ALWAYS being challenged, even by so called "liberals". The police were called to that party for a reason. Their first priority is the safety of all involved and present. Second is to observe and assess if any criminal behavior is or has been commited. Third. is the quality of life issues in and around the surounding neighborhood of this party/gathering. Fols, its really not that hard to understand, whenever a police officer tells you to do something, YOU DO IT. You DO NOT question why, or feel that you need to challenge the officer verbaly. Think of it as playing "simon says" if the officers tell you party is over, time to disperse and go home, LEAVE,...!!!!!! It's that simple. AND if that were the case there would be no medis story/covereage of the party to begin with.!!

A phalanx of riot geared troopers, pepper spray, rubber bullets, batons, snarling dogs and other weapons were used to subdue students partying on University property last night. I guess the storm troopers got a chance to relieve their pent up frustrations but at what price?
Students were NOT burning property, no one displayed weapons. What was the offense, too much noise - too many people? Get a grip !!!

I was not there, media reports are not trustworthy, neither participant testimony to the police wrondoing. However, I bet there was extensive drinking, as well as using of the faul language. It was 1:30 a.m.- get a grip - residents who leave nearby have to go to work, kids should have good sleep, and not to be offended and disturbed.
The only excuse if any is that this is very tipical for any university gatherings throughout the world.
Wesleyan University is a great school - there are many students from different backgrounds, some from reach families, majority from middle-class, lots of kids from poor families as well.

Let's see here, I dropped out of high school, I've never been arrested, I never really drank alcohol, never did drugs, and now I run a successful business. What exactly is the point of college?????

300 people partying at 1:30 A.M. on a weeknight. I'm sure that there is not too much sympathy going out from the local poeple that had to go to work the next morning.

Police can be a real pain in the a** when they show up at a big party. Nothing like ruining the fun. However, when they show up, they are in charge to keep the peace. Don't argue with a person holding a gun (or any weapon) and you won't get shot, tased, and/or pepper sprayed. I would be tasing and spraying if I was outnumbered and no one was complying.

yup, we are a bunch of snobs. the mpd couldn't wait to actually mace us. biggest display of circle-jerking ever.
really the only reason anyone was still in the street at 2am was cuz 6 mpd cars came rolling up fountain like it was some parade. there was no beer left, everyone would have left if they hadn't made it such a spectacle.

If the police say it's time to go and break it up, then DO IT! The arrogance of students who did not comply were really the instigators in this mess. That's one of the big problems with society today, NO RESPECT FOR AUTHORITY! These students do not get any sympathy from me.
