Fight for East Haven officer's job goes to CT Supreme Court

It's all over now. One of the Rep. Police Commissioners died today, not Mr. Romano. A Dem will be appointed and they will have the majority. The legal actions by Romano will be stopped by the new Police Com Dem majority and Nappe will have a job again. Now can we focus on the real problems in East Haven.

It seems to be a very fishy situation. There is an underlying reason why Officer Nappe is not wanted back on the force. Also, I do not believe that the Mayor should have changed the ruling -- it should not be up to her and is not up to her. I hope that the issue gets resolved fairly (we should be glad that Officer Nappe is willing to be a police officer -- not many people want to be a police officer or have the qualities to be a police officer.

Remember there was a Judge's order to hire Nappe back that the previous Mayor refused to follow. Mayor Almon stopped paying lawyers to fight the order and decided to comply with the Judges ruling. This saved the taxpayers money by not paying lawyers. The money is needed for other more important projects in town.

Hey bobbin Robyn... I happen to be half Italian myself and I find no ethnic slur in my statement...Almost every player in this game just happens to have an Italian last name !
My observation is that the majority polititions in all of the, "Havens" are of Italian ancestery and run their crooked little kingdoms like midevil Italy.

OK all you anti Italian liberals out there, don't think for a moment that I have'nt noticed that Nappe is Italian and you're punishing him for that! My illigitimate daughter Gina is Chinese / Arab and no one picks on her for that. Well I guess my sons Vinnie and Antney would protect her.
Hard for her to earn money workin the massage parlors all bruised up.

I agree with this post. Bob was hedging his bet when he quit his job to work for a private company in IRAQ. His BIG ego allowed him to give up a good paying job for a better paying job all the while assuring himself that when he returned he would be welcomed back with open arms. OOPS Bob! Not so fast. I am tired of the media portraying him as a hero who served his country. He didn't. He served his own bank account and he wants us to feel sorry for him now that he is back. Be a man, find a new job and get on with it. If you can't find a job here I am sure there are still security jobs in IRAQ!

[NAPPES COMMIN BACK]

I'm glad to see that the commissioners have desided to follow the lead of the new mayor.
She's a great leader and fortunatly for us, a morally responsible person who will truely serve our town well.
I'd especialy like to thank the Chief for his enthusiasm and positive attitude about officer Nappes return. I'm sure Nappe will not dwell on the injustice done to him by the Police Administration. People say he has excepted their apologies and is now ready to move on.
I'm sure I speak for everyone that has posted here when I say WELCOME BACK TO EAST HAVEN'S HERO!
