One more reason to INSPECT A HOME BEFORE YOU BUY. Blow a few hundred and have a pro inspect it for you if your not sure. They will always find things wrong. It pays for itself when you get the house for less.
Two years? Get a tank dropped professionally or do it yourself. Get a loan if you have to (your gonna get it back from the suit)
A quote from the article:
They called the agent that sold them the house, the former owner, and the house inspector, but got nowhere.
They DID have it inspected. The home inspector is one of the ones they're suing.

I feel for these people, but when buying a home it is buyer beware, A 300 dollar home inspection could have prevented this whole mess, to think that someone would not have a professional inspection done in this day and age is a shame and for a mortgage company to write a loan without one is another fault in this countries loan practices

Can't believe it took that long to realize the septic did not work! This is a basic need that should have been included in the basic house. Seems like they might construct their own tank in a place of their choice -- pretty quick!

"They go to Kelly's mother's house and make do."

Well, I supposed they'd HAVE to, wouldn't they, since their toilet's backed up?

I meant....to REALLY inspect the home. Someone said they did but obviously didn't do a very good job (maybe on purpose). Can't trust anyone these days.
I do my own inspections.

How did this house get built, pass inspections during construction and have no septic of sewer hook up? I think I would be going to the County or City and asking what happened to the Sewer Inspector? Was he blind? Did he actually go to the job when the house was under construction? He should obviously be looking for a new job.

The home inspector they hired when they purchased the house also sounds like a loser. He obviously did not really inspect the house assuming he actually went to the home. I hope this family takes everyone of these crooks to the cleaners.

I wouldn't count on it. Most people never collect from suits even if they win.

The homeowner complained things weren't right but the builder and the inspector both poo-pooed the idea.

You know you get get a home inspectors license in about 6 to 8 weeks. What inthe hell can you learn in 6 to 8 weeks, specially about plumbing. At least they can test your eletrical a little, but plumbing they look at the pipes under the cabinets. You never see them run a sewer machine down a line which, will give you a good indication on what kind of shapes your pipes under slab are in.

You do need to get a home inspection, but you also need an plumber from a plumbing company to out and thoroughly check your potable water and waste water systems.
