It is obvious to anyone over the age of 3 that our current system of life without parole, or whatever stupid punishment is handed out is disfunctional.

True- the race card is played to much, and until the black community stops playing it far too often, there will be these attitudes towards blacks.
True- a march on town square to "end the violence" will not work, until the parents of these young gun toting hooligans, grab their ill mannered children by the ear lobe, and drag them to a productive activity. Work, volunteering, higher education, etc.
True- With local and national figures like Sharpton, Jesse to run out and scream racism everytime there is a sideways glance at a black person, things will not get better.
True-Until there is a cultural change to put value on human life, the killing will not stop.
True-Until people like you stop spouting off about what is wrong with an entire society, with broad insulting generalizations, and start getting involved, by learning about the diversity and potential for greatness this city has, nothing will change. What if you were to volunteer on the SE side community centers and give a young black person hope for the future?

Now who is the racist? The person who quoted a black man with admiration to what that black man said or the guy who is accusing that person of being a lily white person because you think only a white person would say these things. I think you're a little mistaken in your thinking here. Sure, the higher ups are making more money, but the consumer is demanding lower prices. These demanded lower prices (thank Wal-mart, Meijer, Costco, etc.) are what's driving business to outsource work.
Besides, you can't blame big corporation for the rise in fuel prices. People have less discretionary money to spend, therefore, it makes it even more important to outsource work as the price of everything has been driven up.
As for problems on the SE., there are many factors such as single parent families, very little home ownership, and a cavalier attitude toward education and respect for others. Simple as that and it has little to do with race.

I live in this area. This is the first shooting around here in *years*. We love living here because there are people of different races and of varied economic standing, unlike in some of the outlying areas where the terrified folks hide out.

This was a dispute between neighbors, at least one of whom has some mental issues. To characterize it as a racial problem or a "inner" city problem is ignorant at best.
