The photo was her personal property and it was stolen. Even though she is a professional, what she does in her own personal time outside of school is her own business, no one elses. She is the victim, and did nothing illegal and now she lost her job because of this. She has every right to sue for every penny that she can get. BASD is making a big deal about it because students saw it, but it's not like these students have never seen a naked photo before. This womens life was ruined and she was embarrased because people act childish.

This individual should be fired. If she were a bank teller or grocery store clerk then it would be a different story. Those who are entrusted with the lives, well being and education of our children should be held to a higher standard. I know what she did outside of school was her business and we all have skeletons in our closets but she left the closet door unlocked and open and now those photos are where they shouldn't be. Say Goodbye!

I agree it was stolen and her life is ruined people need to just mind their own business!

No...she should NOT loose her job...the students that took her personal property and sent out via cell phone to others are the ones to be punished! This woman is being made the victim! So what if there was a nude photo? Big deal!Like school children these days are so-o innocent..As a parent of 3 teenage boys, I have heard it all! No one is without fault. Are the parents of the students patting their children on the back for a job well done? Just think...They saved the school district
from a bad teachers aide!I certainly hope they reprimand these kids for stealing personal property and then ruining the career of an obviously excellent employee..You are being held up as a sacrifice for BASD, because they don't know what else to do, except get rid of the problem so they don't have to look bad by backing you up...Go get 'em girl! I know you will have alot of support on this!

Perfect example of why no one wants to go into the education field anymore. At one time it was a rewarding career. No way should the teacher's aide be required or asked to leave. What she does or what anyone of us do in our own home is our own business. And instead of the school board trying to pacifer some parents ,they should be punishing the students who stole her cell phone and their parents should be apologizing to her. The studets should be taught a lesson maybe community service, something productive instead of ruining a individuals life. Iam a parent of a child in another school district and I would be so embrassed if my child ever did anything like this and he would be grounded for a very long time.Wake up parents stop blaming everyone else for what your children do and start teaching them the difference between right and wrong. And maybe parents should check whats on their childrens cell phones or their own before trying to blame innocent people.

I would hope she stands up for herself and does not resign. Did she intentionally corrupt a student? Has she been dedicated to her job?
I agree with the above posts that say pursue those that sent out the photo or we just implicitly taught students this is fun".
I hope this teachers aide has the courage to go back to work... Everyone else can deal with their own discomfort.

Unless there is something more that we don't know I can not see any reason why she should resign or be fired. If the photo(s) were stolen then those responsible should be punished to whatever extent the law provided for.

perhaps the person that took her phone should be punished instead.the aide was not at fault it was the idiot that took her phone

I think the aide should not lose her job. The student who STOLE her phone should be punished. I still think stealing is against the law. What she does in her personal life outside of school is her business. She is being condemned for something that was private and made public by a student who broke the law. I am sure students have seen much more than a nude photo of someone. I have heard such trash and stories of sexual encounters from middle school students it would make your jaw drop open. Get the courage to go back into that school and hold your head up. You deserve to keep your job.

Why does anyone [much less a teacher] need to carry naked pictures of THEMSELVES with them everywhere they go? Is'nt that something you would keep under wraps, at home? Or does she need them available to show her ??? Just wonderin'

NO, she should NOT be fired.

These parents who are complaining better wake up and start checking their childrens phones as "sexting" is very popular today, especially with the teens, and probably involving some of their own kids. What these kids don't realize is, those photos once they are sent into cyberspace can NEVER be deleted. They will be there to haunt them even 50 years from now.

That teacher should ditch the boyfriend, keep the job, and sue them all. You go girl!

what exactly is the big deal? We should be more concerned about the students who had taken her phone & distributed the photos.

Let's open the closets of the supervisors and the board members and see what "lurid" details we can find! Adultery, child molestation, tax evasion, drug abuse. Please, this woman is the victim, here.

The children have likely seen and heard more "lurid" things at home.

And Mark R., bet you're not squeaky clean. Usually those who squawk the loudest are among the worst.

So we've got a Teacher's Aide ... employed for about six years (which makes her about twenty-four)... and people are wondering why she has nudie pics of herself on her phone? SERIOUSLY? Because she's twenty-four!
And while I can understand that John and Jane Q Nobody don't partcularly like the idea of little Billy knowing what his teacher looks like under her clothes, I'm forced to wonder why they aren't a little more concerned about little Billy having nude pics of his classmates on HIS phone ... on their plans ... which makes said kiddie porn THEIR responsibility.

she didn't molest anyone and no one should have stolen her cell phone and sent her picture. when i was going to school we had some witches. the first grade teacher was always in church, but in school she yelled, screamed, hit you with a paddle and locked you in the closet. third grade was the same thing. sixth grade that teacher yelled and hit you on the head. the seventh grade teacher was a preacher, we thought we had the devil. in high school we had a preachers wife who screamed and one day her teeth fell out onto her desk. we weren't rowdy; they should not have had those jobs. we moved to the city and with the teachers there i thought i was in heaven. the guidance person asked me what i thought of their school i told him i love it and the county school was like a jail. the people who would want some one fired for a naked picture don't get the picture. where were they when you had to swim nude at the ymca.
